SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Salty Cracker hits the mark on this one.

Unsurprisingly, defunding police departments has led to more violent crime across the nation.
"Meh."

Well I think there were 25k homicides last year, and last I looked this year is tracking 13-18 percent higher, and that was before Summer.  I suspect we are going to hit 30k homicides a year in the next few years.  Most of this will not be so much "defunding" of police as much as complete lack of morale and mass exodus from the police departments that were already saddled with much higher violence levels in the communities.  As these communities trend a certain direction in population, cops are walking on glass with regard to doing much in those communities, so lots of them are quitting for other careers, different cities/demographic areas, or retiring early.

I can forsee Biden being at the helm of a new "crime bill" and we shall have history repeat itself.

Sure is frightening to see society moving backwards so fast. We just went back 100 years in a few months. Don't know what to expect, take away that eviction protection and it's game over. Hopefully the landlords of America can afford to keep tenants rent free for the next 4 years.

The goal of defunding the police was never to defund the police, it's to create the conditions in which the broader population will accept a federalized police force.

Once you remove law enforcement's local accountability and ties to the community, you create the conditions for seizure of firearms, mass-arrests of political opposition, and all kinds of openly totalitarian moves.

Not 100 years.  I suspect this is pretty much what it was like in 1968/1969.  Problem is that the rot continued throughout the 70's/80's/90's.  The 1970's also brought the US fun shit like Weather Underground.  Friendly reminder that Obummer is a protege of Bill Ayers and that one of Bill's getaway drivers is on the board of BLM.
