SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

There's a link to this podcast posted on RPGnet. Was this done by an acquaintance of yours, Pundit? :D

Clearly a jab at the Pundit. Funny as hell, too. :teehee:

I have to say, this was fucking hilarious.  Much more clever than any other attempt at parody that came before.  Part of the cleverness of it was how much of it was direct parody of my own writing.

The guy speaks way too slowly to be imitative, though I guess that's not something he could really have known.  Likewise, the soundtrack was pretty fucking awful, not something I'd ever be listening to, but again, no way he could have known that.

Frankly, the parody is just TOO good; the guy who did this has clearly studied my writing a bit too much, I think that on some level, he has to get it (which is really the major issue with other attempts at parodying me, that they basically just make shit up that have nothing to do with what I actually say).  This guy exaggerates, but its an extrapolation and not just made up bullshit with no relation with what I actually try to say. Dare I say that there's actually some kind of undercurrent of respect, if not admiration?

Anyways, I admire the guy's effort.

Its certainly the best gaming podcast I've ever heard.

It almost makes me want to make one of my own.

"when they pretend to be hip, we'll expose them as lame.
When they pretend to be accommodating, we'll expose them as insidious.
And finally when they expose themselves as the freaks they really are, we will expose them to the whole world."

Fucking excellent.

I mean seriously, fucking Christ, were it not the site that it was hosted from, I would think this was a well-meaning send-up from a fan.

I also thought it was a fun listen, though I agree the music was rather terrible. Not being familiar with the site I wasn't sure if it was a parody or not, hence my post on here.

Fuck it and mea culpa.  You ARE a gaming celebrity.

The Wench said something to that effect, that "they should have known this would only be a win for me no matter what".

The guy definitely sounds like a fan rather than a parodist.

What kind of site is it exactly? My first impression caused me not to click any further on there expecting GMS/Forge blah blah.

Well, they have a link to Conspiracy of Shadows on their front page, which is a Forge-designed game.  So I was assuming... though I guess its not certain.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show.  Episode 2 is available now on the site and on iTunes.

Not bad, maybe not quite the oomph of the first one, basically because it feels like more of the same.

Also, snacks do not go well with a hookah or any other sort of smoking implement; drinks yes, snacks no.

nicely put hooka wisdom here...I like to quaf a sweet Sangria or gin and tonic as the tendrils wreathe alight...snacks afore or later.
:)

and yeah...fun stuff!
Form the group wisely, make sure you share goals and means.
Set norms of table etiquette early on.
Encourage attentive participation and speed of play so the game will stay vibrant!
Allow that the group, milieu and system will from an organic symbiosis.
Most importantly, have fun exploring the possibilities!
