I absolutely agree with your concern about Big Daddy overreach AND the many, never solved major problems with the Patriot Act.

But AntiFart are domestic terrorists. Unlike organized crime rings, AntiFart is a politically motivated group seeking to overthrow the US government and they're happy to use violence and vandalism. Thus, they deserve to be dealt with differently than common criminals to collapse their ability to recruit and raise funds.

However, AntiFart members must get their due process. None of that Gitmo "held indefinitely without trial" nonsense.

Posts like this one are why Spinachat is the most based poster I have ever seen on any RPG forum ever. I'm serious.

At what point do they get to be treated as enemies instead of just common criminals? There was POW in Chicago for captured Confederate prisoners, they were treated as enemy prisoners of war. If they want to overthrow the government, they are just as much the enemy as were those Confederate soldiers and should be treated no different.

They don't get that privilege, Tom. The rules of war regarding POWs require such captured soldiers to be caught on the field of battle, in uniform, openly declaring for the opposing nation. These guys are closer to spies and saboteurs.

And there's a very specific punishment for that lot.

Espionage and treason are both Federal capital crimes. And hanging is still in the Federal statutes as a means of execution.

Wonder why certain members of Congress keep trying to get those changed?
