SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

James Yee and the Decadence of the American Empire

If any of you seriously believe the bullshit the U.S. government is pushing that their war is not a war on Islam, and that Guantanamo is not a concentration camp, and that everyone who is in there deserves to be there, you need to read this:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFriendly/0,,1-525-1817081-525,00.html

Its one of the most shocking things I've read in a long time, especially since I remember it made the international news when Mr. Yee was arrested, the government declared it had caught an al-qaeda guy posing as a muslim army chaplain in guantanamo, and how he would face the death penalty for his crimes.

And then it turned out that the charges were entirely concocted by the Christian officers in the Guantanamo concentration camp who hated him because he was a muslim, and because he had pleaded the prisoner's cases against the torture and humliation they were facing.

And everyone knew the charges were a lie. They must have, everyone right up to the top. But they put them out there, on fox news, they destroyed this guy's life, his marriage, everything... was it because they were afraid he'd go public, and reveal what was going on in GitMo?  Is that a good enough reason, in the Bush administration's perverted brains, to try to frame someone with a death penalty treason charge?

The Bush administration has done so many things that would qualify as war crimes, the whole american system has shown itself in the last five years to be so utterly rotted and twisted to the very core, but this story just hit it home to me, that maybe the whole thing has reached the point of no return.

When you can start making up completely non-existent charges with death sentences on people you just don't like, you're entering Caligula & Nero country there.  Bush has already banjoed while Louisiana sank, now he would just have to make his horse a senator to really complete the whole "decadent empire on the verge of catastrophe thing", if only he wasn't deathly afraid of horses (true fact).

I doubt the world can count on the praetorian guard to step in this time though, and take Bush out to save civilization; that might be up to the people.

Bush is finally unpopular enough that if the opposition manages to mobilize, if the democrats' testicles descend, etc. there could be a shift in the congress in 2006.  That could lead to all kinds of investigations, like the one that the current republican congress has refused to do about James Yee's case, that could start taking all of these motherfuckers out one by one like dominos. All it takes is the will, the popular outrage, to get this gang of thieves out and restore sanity to the Republic.

For fuck's sake, America, remember yourself: Sic Semper Tyranis!
