I didn't say he endorsed it.  I said he's arguing that abuse isn't abuse because it's punishment, and the kids asked for it by doing the offense anyway.  And that he doesn't get to make that call.

I don't really see that. I think he is describing what a lot of us experinced growing up and not really commenting on it. I am just not seeing his post as being all that outrageous.

Either way, this thread has gone full tangency so I am going to shut it down.

Pundit has previously claimed 5e is the way it is because of him. I said, if you take credit for the good stuff, you must take the blame for the bad stuff, too. He continued asserting his responsibility for the genius of it all.

I would absolutely LOVE to take credit for the paragraph. I in no way whatsoever consider it "bad stuff".


And while we're at it, I also absolutely love your resentment and sour grapes at my success, and 5e's.

Out of the whole hobby I think TBP, Paizo et al have the 5-6% covered without WoTC having to lift a finger. Oh! There we go! They're empowered and cater to their own needs. Problem solved, free market wins again without the need for correction.

What WoTC is doing is a reflection of the free market. Absolutely no one put a gun to their head.  No one was particularly even expecting it until the Basic PDF was released.
