GRIM:

--- Quote from: RPGPundit ---Their ideological influence ("story-based gaming") has basically been abandoned as wrong-headed, ever since the advent of D20. Hell, even they gave it up for Exalted and WoD2.

No, not really.
They gave up Goth Punk (and any hint of real creativity) for WOD2 but both are still very much 'story led'.

Personally I think you have story-based gaming confused in your head with what basically amounts to railroading, something 'old skool' games had in abundance, albeit on a more personal level.

Hastur T. Fannon:

--- Quote from: GRIM ---There were, at one point, three 30+ person LARPs spread across the same two mid-sized market towns, hell my tabletop group was almost that size.

Those towns wouldn't happen to have been Luton and Bedford would they? If so we've probably tried to stab each other with pipe insulation at some stage

No, Andover/Basingstoke/Guildford/Tidworth sort of area.
I've not done much boffer LARP.  I have an aversion to mud and being hit.  I'm more a 'wine and cheese' than a 'mud and beer' chap.
