SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

It's not like there weren't 20 warnings, now we're back to Zak's big book of grudges (don't your shoulders ache carrying that around all the time?) that has sweet FA to do with this topic.

I'll leave the thread open for hopefully a return to the actual topic. If that's not forthcoming in the next few hours, then that's all she wrote and people can go talk about rpgs for a change.

Quote from: TristramEvans;804464In regards to the negative reputation of MRAs, its simply that the misogynistic tools don't represent an extremist minority, rather the majority. I dare you to find one MRA site online that doesn't have people engaging in rampant sexism. Its rife with it. You'd have about as easy a time finding a KKK member who isn't racist. Does this mean men's rights aren't important nor worthwhile? Not at all. But thats the sad truth of the matter.

Most of the Honey Badgers are MRA friendly, or directly identify as MRA. Alison, Karen and Hannah in particular have contributed articles to the notorious AVFM. All of them are pretty rabidly anti-feminism. They've interviewed people involved in Gamergate as well, due to the identity politics involved.

If anything I really reccomend Alison Tieman's videos and writings. I think she's pretty sharp in her deconstructions of feminism and sexism and culture's views on gender.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

Quote from: GRIM;804484I think it's down to evidence and definitions of terms.

It sounds like you don't want that evidence to come from actual women, or to let women define what counts, to them, as sexism.

That's all Zak is saying you should do. It's not that tough of a concept.

It's not deflection, or a grudge. It seems like common sense: why not ask women what they consider sexist?

Otherwise, all we've got is dudes in here giving the same-old dude perspective. (And occasionally dredging up a link to somewhere where a woman agreed with them. Hurray, I guess.)

Well done.
