This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.
The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

You're forgetting a 3rd (unlikely) scenario: the Congress decides to override him and pass the remainder of the budget over his veto.

Trump still wins. He stood his ground and brands the GOP senators who flipped as traitors.

Trump's base only abandons him if he wimps out...and he'll unleash them on those senators who flip.

Also, those senators aren't going to flip without huge concessions for their votes. That alone should be entertaining.

The shutdown is definitely LoLz worthy!

So far, I'd say I like Cortez and Pelosi, as they'll do most of the heavy lifting to re-elect Pres. Trump.

Crazy Eyes Cortez and the Cryptkeeper are perfectly cast to replace Hillary as Trump's foil.

What's really fun is watching the "freshmen" senators trying to battle against each for sound bites and media attention. That's guaranteed to produce some excellent LoLz as they jockey for social media kudos.

Politicians are ego monsters and social media is a 24/7 crack den for narcissists.

Trump's core supporters can't carry an election though. Trumps core supporters + Hillary Clinton carried the election for Trump. By a razor thin margin.

Very true.

This is why I expect Trump to declare One-And-Done in 2020. Drop the mic and just throw poo via Twitter for the next decade. He did real estate, he did casinos, he did TV, he did politics, and maybe he's already thinking about his next playground.

The 2020 election will be all about Trump whether or not he's running!

True, but it also runs the risk (that is not without some real, tangible, benefits) of getting a Congress that grows a spine and decides it is a co-equal branch of government again.

Given the 2020 map, that means a lot less than you might think.

We will see.

The only politicians I actually like are all in the American Solidarity Party.  Their platform can be found here.  It's a socially conservative, fiscally liberal pro-life party.

And that exact lack of honest reflection on who Cortez and Pelosi are as politicians what the GOP is will give Trump a win in 2020.

If he runs again. I give it a 50/50 shot that he does at this point.

You underestimate the number of stupid things Congressmen have said... but probably not by much! ;)

Flip it over, there's a fun maze and a word jumble on the back.

The answer is "fries."

Thank you!! Finally a political party I can support.  I'm totally good with replacing 1/3 of Congress with ostriches.

Can someone explain exactly what Ocasio-Cortez has done to garner such hatred? List them, please. Because the only things I've seen lately is that she danced one time, or had bog-standard Eisenhower Republican views like "taxes should be higher on the highest income brackets" and "corruption is bad."

From my perspective, it's her socialist stance, and her "free shit for everyone!" platform.

Sanders is a pants-shitting loon, but AOC dials it up to 11.

And the fact she couldn't afford to move to Washington to work after being elected.  How did she not see that one coming?  Did she really think she was going to work from home?  Either way it really shows she isn't ready to represent her people at all.

I haven't seen much hatred from conservative commentators. More like bemusement and exasperation.

There are trolls on social media making nasty comments about her, but there are trolls on social media making nasty comments about everyone.

They makes me nervous. I do not have a problem with government programs to help people out, but politicians like AOC and Bernie seem hell-bent on creating a government monopoly in the name of "helping" people.
