This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.
The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Merry Christmas, and happy holidays to everyone here.

This has been the first holiday without my mother. She passed away in august of this year. I'd just like to mention it to remind people to enjoy their friends and family while they're with us, and not sweat the small stuff.

Merry Christmas, Ratman_tf.

My fiancee's father passed away unexpectedly just three weeks ago, so we're having a subdued Christmas without him. Here's to the Christmas spirit of those past, and enjoying those still with us.

Merry Christmas to all.

This is our first Christmas without my father so it’s a very subdued affair as well. It’s always been very God and family focused as our family already had a tradition of waiting on gifts until the Feast of Epiphany (i.e. when the wise men brought their gifts), but this year even moreso.

Greetings!

Yes. I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas.

I've hung out with family and friends. I had a great glazed ham for Christmas dinner, along with corn, mashed potatoes, and cheese biscuits.

Now, I'm relaxing with some French Roast Coffee, and a good cigar.

Cheers!

Merry Christmas to all.

I'm seeing my own family on Tuesday, and while we haven't lost anyone in the permanent sense, this is the first time I'm seeing my sister and her kids after her separation from my brother-in-law, and not having been told anything about it by anyone in my family other than the barest minimum acknowledgement it happened, I now have the terribly uncomfortable feeling that I am going to have to talk completely around the topic and just pretend nothing at all is unusual or abnormal. (I am also trying hard to balance my desperate curiosity with not only my normally quite strict sense of fairness, which rightly notes that it is not actually any of my business, but also my fear and (to be honest) anger that I was deliberately excluded from these discussions because my family doesn't trust me to keep my harsh disapproval of any form of divorce out of the issue.)

Less of a sorrow than those of others here, absolutely, but still a mark of loss on a family holiday that before COVID was always one of my most treasured memories.

Merry Christmas.

I spent the evening playing Cards Against Humanity with my family, which, I think, is the true spirit of Christmas.
I'm a middle aged guy with a lot of free time, looking for similar, to form a group for regular gaming. You should be chill, non-woke, and have time on your hands.

I feel this unnatural compulsion to tell you that your choice of dinner is "wrong" ever since I came under the influence of the Eyetalyun Mafia after I got married and became brainwashed to believe that there only appropriate meals are the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Xmas Eve followed by Lasagna (or as my son calls it, "Eyetalyun Casserole") on Xmas Day...  :o

She at least let's me keep the pork roast for New Years Day...

Heh. Nice. Growing up, I'd always have ham along with kimbap and chapjae for Christmas.

This year we made fancy homemade mac & cheese for Christmas, along with green beans, salad, pesto focaccia, pumpkin bread, and pies. Then for the Boxing Day, we went to my fiancee's relatives, and we had kimbap (that I brought) along with ham and waldorf salad.

So what were your fav Christmas gifts?

For me, of all things, it was a Lodge cast iron skillet and one of those thermometers that you can insert the probe and it goes in the oven.

Y'all might already have one of those thermometers but it was a game changer on the roast (top round) I cooked on New Years Day. Medium rare was so beautiful.

I, of course, also got some gaming stuff. OSE black Friday starter set, some Hackmaster 4e off of eBay, some Elric novels.
