Greetings!

Tim Pool does a sharp video discussing a pamphlet sent out by an African American Museum. The pamphlet describes what it depicts as "white culture"--a whole range of cultural norms, laws, standards, and Constitutional rights--and wants white culture destroyed.

Reading all of that drivel made me laugh. Yeah, America is a white-dominant culture. If these people don't like that fact, they can get on the next plane out of the country. Other people are welcome to come to America, but that doesn't mean the white people here have to change to suit them. There's nothing wrong with white American culture. "Whiteness follow rigid time schedule"; psst: black people are not on time, but we're trying to make it a negative for whites. wink wink.  "Whiteness includes scientific method, objectiveness" Psst: black people are not good at science. So true, my friend! This pamphlet put out by this stupid fucking museum--it is so mind-boggling, it makes me wonder, who the hell on staff there came up with this document? And who is supervising *them*? And furthermore, how did such a person--and their supervisors--ever just think that it is a good idea to print such gibberish up to begin with? Some elements of the descriptions are of course accurate of white people's accomplishments, as well as various cultural traits--oh and not to mention many of these ideas are foundational elements to our entire society and our Constitutional rights--but framing them in such a negative manner juxtaposed against black people implies a mountain of negative features to black people.

These morons never thought this through much, did they?

As you suggest, reversing them and if the stated aspects are judged as negatives--all of them being negatively described attributes of "white culture"--then their opposites are thereby positive! *laughing* How fucking stupid is that?

I'm pretty sure a lot of that so-called white culture was initially acquired through trade with African, Middle Eastern, and Asian cultures.

Most of it likely came from the bronze age collapse.  The whole Greek heroic idea of mythology is all based on individuals making things happen for their communities in the context of the Greek dark age.  And then after Alexander the Great spread Greco-Macedonian culture all the way to India the ideal of a powerful dynamic individual pops up again and again.  "Iskandar" becomes a Persian muslim for example in the retelling of his conquest of the Persian empire.  Over the centuries you'll find various "Alexander" legends all the way from northwest India to the UK.  In some of the European ones he becomes a Christian king in the same manner that the Muslim version make him a Muslim.

When you find Buddha statues in Viking graves you can start to see that the world has always been a bit more connected than we think.

Do you really think ancient aliens and Vikings selling the spoils of their raids along the Rus trade routes to the middle east are the same thing?  We have loads of archaeological evidence and the writings of Ahmad ibn Fadlan, who travelled along the Volga and spent some time with the Varangians.  It makes total sense that a cool statue of Buddha would change hands a few times and end up there.  Iron age graves in Sweden have also turned up silver coins minted in Africa, Damascus, Baghdad and Persia.

As for the topic of the thread, I've experienced this first hand when my work has taken me into schools.  I'm in Canada and have heard indigenous kids berate their fellows for "being white" when they get good grades.  I've heard this is an issue in many majority black schools in America as well.  Get an A on an assignment and you'll be told by your fellow black students to "stop acting white."

Excellence becoming associated with a single race and then berating those who succeed as some sort of race traitor isn't a good thing.  The ideas in the pamphlet above work regardless of what skin colour the person who implements them happens to have.

That right there is the crab bucket effect, where someone tries to succeed and the rest of their group drag them back down.

All of those things in the poster are virtues (near enough, I'm not that fond of organised religion). Black people are just as capable of succeeding as anyone else, but it would help a lot if activists didn't tell them that they were doomed to fail and their peer group didn't want them to fail so they don't look bad in comparison.

Brandon Tatum is black American and former police officer. Here's his thoughts on the Museum's fine work. It was heartbreaking for me to listen to him discuss this because he knows how prevalent these concepts have become and how dangerous they are. It's shocking such racist propaganda is being paid for by our tax dollars.
