Title: Gnomish Alchemy
Post by: RPGPundit on February 18, 2010, 11:54:41 PM
In the Gnomemurdered book, I focused a great deal on Gnomish mutations (from contact with Gnome goo), and I went into some detail about Gnomish cookies and the dangerous side-effects they provided.

Are there any other well-known byproducts of Gnomes, or popular products associated with Gnomes, that could be material for unusual effects in a Gnomemurdered game?

Toadstools.  Pipes.  I see the garden variety fishing rather frequently.  Frogs and toads seem to factor into the typical garden setup I see as well.  Maybe if their shrooms aren't strong enough they should be licking amphibians.

As far as byproducts go... perhaps gnomes are frequently kept prisoners in gardens for a specific reason: Their valuable, nutrient-rich, radioactive, (ahem) byproducts.

It may be possible in some cases that Gnomes could be  magically bound in the form of the statues known as "garden gnomes"; but as I detailed in Gnomemurdered, in most cases those statues are either vile fetishes of Gnomish-worshipers (or simply naive fools who think Gnomes are "cute"), or they are actually a type of Gnomish assassin of a very special kind (the blinking gnomes).
