Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Gnome Fanpeople and the Gnomish Agenda

Its pretty clear that at least since the advent of Garden Gnomes, the Gnomes have been working to create a group of hardcore human sympathizers who see, and promote, Gnomes as being cute and lovable.  This was strongly reinforced by the publication of that big illustrated "gnome" book (full of lies!) a few decades ago.

The question is: what is the Gnome's overall plan? Are they targeting a specific demographic? It would seem that the typical Gnome-fanatic is more likely to be female than male, is middle-age and up, and is something of a homebody (if not a homemaker). Suburban moms and grandmas are particular keen victims, it would seem.

So what do the Gnomes want to accomplish? A legion of cookie-baking zombified slaves?  People who will influence and perhaps warp the vulnerable children of society? Something being put into our food, or our gardens?

Possibly people who generally fade into the background. After all, if no-one is paying attention to the homeowner, then likely...

...No-one is paying attention to them!
The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.

Yeah, but to what end? Or do you just mean that its part of a general plan to dilute belief in the real menace of Gnomes?

I'm, frankly, not sure how safe it is to try to discern gnomish thinking. For one thing, are they capable of planning, of thought, as we know it?

I would say so. Their priorities might be completely different from what we can understand (though even these can often be catalogued: murder, cookies, underpants, etc.), but yes, they do seem to have plans and these can often be guessed at.

I think you over analyze it. Garden Gnomes are useful, because a gnome can hide amongst them and knife an unsuspecting guest.

I have been thinking about possible ratios of "Decoys" to "Real Gnomes".

The most worrisome thing about gnomes is that the "G" is silent in their race name. What kind of diabolical reason is there for this? Is it a nefarious attempt to subvert the English language? Or is it somehow connected to Wodehouse's use of the silent "P" in pfish?
"Meh."

This is a good choice for an entirely separate thread in and of itself.

It has been suggested that this become its own thread and I agree since it clearly demonstrates the severity of the Gnome problem. Yet their use of silent letters also is a clear demonstration of the stealth and trickery of those same Gnomes.
"Meh."
