This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Last October, I ordered a copy of A Night in the Lonesome October from an Amazon seller to replace my copy. (As Corwin noted, only friends to steal your books.) My thought was that I'd read it aloud to my daughter for the upcoming Halloween.

It arrived a week or so after Halloween... to my dismay.

For the seller feedback, I noted that the book was in excellent shape, but was pretty late.

Just the other day I was sent an email by the seller asking if I'd like a copy of one of Roger Zelazny's books of poetry to make up for the late shipment. The name on the reply email was Trent Zelazny.

I sent him a "thanks!" and expressed great praise for his father's work. Trent turns out to be a real gentleman... much like his father was. We bounced emails back and forth, and Erick's name came up. Hard to believe that both Roger and Erick are gone, though it has been a while for Roger.

I'm going to see if I can find a copy of one of Trent's novels as a result.

I didn't mean to make that title so cryptic... it was a case of accidentally posting before I'd finished typing it.

Did you talk about ADRPG with him ? Has he any insights about what is going on in the Zelazny foundation and if they would oppose releasing ADRPG with a Creative Commons license (like Catalyst Lab Games did for Eclipse Phase) in order to prevent it from dying ? It would take them a single statement and would make so many people so happy...

Perhaps a cryptic thread title, but a wonderful post, Jason. It's nice to see that Trent is as nice as his father and willing to exchange e-mails to discuss things like that.

Too bad the book was late for Halloween, though. :(

That is interesting; its a pity that he's not the one in control of the Zelazny Estate.
