Animeber The one true anime of which all others are mere spinnoffs !
Born with the royal ink of Animeber in your cell shading you too have
the power to walk among the spinnoffs that hold worlds of high tech,
low tech, magic, psychic abilities, gunslinging mayhem and more.

Oberon Animebers old monarch the lusty king was known for his tyranical rule frequent sojourns into the spinnoffs and his plots within plots within plots. He possesed the largest collection of stolen panties, of all the dirty old men in Animeber.

Finndo Eldest son of Oberon, atleast oldest son on the books of Animebers historical society. Handsome, tall, muscuar and well spoken. He was groomed to be the next king of Animeber. this was not to be as he got involved in one of his father's many plots and was shuffled into a war with a savage spinnoff kingdom where he suposedly lost his life along with his younger brother Osric.

Osric Hot tempered wizard of Animeber who learned how to bend the rules of even the true realm. He ran afoul of his father when the two bumped into eachother in a spinnoff where they were on a panty raid on the same sorority of catgirls. His father sent him off to war as punishment for not relinquishing his ill gotten gains as tribute. His brother Finndo joined him in this war where the two have dissapeared never to be seen in the true anime again.

Benedict Not quite as handsom as Finndo, or as skilled with warping the Spinnoffs with magic as Osric. Where Benedict does excell is war. A gun toting, cigar smoking, tough guy is what he is known for. Ever since he was a child he was more interested in his toy soldiers, and his tub was never empty of toy ships. The only one to ever figure out his fathers plots, and even some of his subplots. When he discovered his elder brothers had gone off to war and that Oberon had not sent for him, he raised troupes and seiged Animeber itself.  The talks that occured after this conflict were never made public, but rumors are that Oberon lost nearly a quarter of Amber's coffers and several toy soldier companies were royally subsidized ever since.

Shortly after this conflict Oberon's marriage to these sons mother was made null and void cutting them out of any royal inheritance or rightful claiming of the throne.

Eric Handsome, charismatic, a real ladies man. Needless to say Oberon hated him. Still Eric enjoyed his place in the true anime and adventured extensivly across Animeber. He was one of the Princes, along with Benedict and his younger brother Corwin who helped put down two major kingdoms that tried to seize Animeber for themselves. These area's were turned into regencies thereafter.  One being given to Eric the other to Corwin. He enjoyed teasing his emo little brother Corwin to no end.

Corwin Angsty, poetic, nihlistic and Animeber's Emo prince. He was just as handsome as Eric and fairly charismatic as well, when he wasnt moping. His sister Deirdre was kind to him in their youth trying to snap him out of his dark moods and has been his favorite ever since. Somewhere along the line he gained the amazing blade Greyswandir. This accomplishment was held over Eric's head for many episodes causing even more tension between the two.

Deirdre A beautiful pale, raven haired Princess who grew up among two warring brothers and a lecherous old coot of a dad. She is aloof and cool under pressure. Like Benedict she too has made war a focus of her life. Following in the wake of his wars, and collecting fallen warriors for what purpose no one knows. Even though she defended Corwin earlly on in their childhood, she is wary of him focusing on her so much since then. Unlike most in the family she weilds a huge ax and wears black amor when in battle.

Caine Swarthy, hard drinking, swashbuckling womanizer of Animeber.
A Gambler, a pirate, and a low life. Caine is seen as the peoples prince, instead of a royal. He enjoys great popularity among the lower classes of the city and has been a Robin Hood like figure in Animeber, and some of the outlying spinnoffs. He was captured by his younger brother Julian and punished for his crimes against the crown. Since that time he has served as an Admiral in Animebers Navy.

Gerard All the muscles of a college football team and half the brain power of any one player. Gerard is the perpetual muscleman of Amber. Well tanned and hulking. He stands a full head and a half taller then even Eric and Corwin. He has started a workout gym on Animeber's beach and can often be found there lifting weights. Not only is he the most muscular man in the family he knows how to flex to impress, is a master of several forms of martial arts and is able to take a lot more punishment then most anyone around.

Julian Animeber's Law. Julian is serious and driven. He doesnt take crap from people and even his brothers and sisters dont get wiggle room when it comes to Oberons decree's and laws. He has the willpower to carry out his fathers wishes and has even opposed several of his siblings in the past when they ran afoul of Oberon. Julian himself is impressive but he has inlisted a host of help in the form of creatures, fellow lawmen and hired help.

Llewella Green haired and large eyed, perhaps the very epitome of Animeber. Llewella is a mystery or perhaps she just liked to be mysterious.
Born out of wedlock and yet formally acknowledged as a royal princess she seems to have connections. Not much is known of her by the family other then she has officially won the prize for best haughty maniacal laugh in the family. That title remaining for years till Florimel came along.

Bleys Dashing, debonaire, handsome, and with more fashion sense then all save Florimel. He has danced and romanced his way around the Golden Circle kingdoms. A dabbler in all things, one never can tell what skills or amusing anecdote he might have gained in some far flung spinnoff. One could wonder why Oberon doesnt dislike Bleys the way he had Finndo or Eric. In a local contest where Oberon brought out Werewindle as the prize. Bleys won it hands down angering Eric. Some years after he gave the blade to his little brother Brand as a gift.

Fiona Firey red haired and brainy. Fiona is Animeber's consumate bookworm. One of the few people who understands the arcane system in use in Animember's extensive library. She has supposedly read all the books in the castle including a few borrowed from missing brother Osric's rooms. So intelligent that her words are often lost on people. She has on occasion pulled a huge hammer out of nowhere to make her point on the less educated thugs in her family.

Brand A bit of Bleys and a bit of Corwin. Brand is at times charismatic, social and outgoing. Then his Corwin phase takes over where he will mope and lock himself away for days. Not quite as smart as his big sister but still brilliant compared to most, he is one of the few people who can understand Fiona when she is spouting arcanobabble. He has been in good spirits for centuries after his big brother Bleys gave him the amazing Werewindle.

Random Perhaps an accidental birth, his name certainly fits with his fathers treatment of his youngest son. Ever since he was a child he would bang on pots and be found in the company of other children playing Uno. It wasnt surprising then that he grew up to be a drummer and gambler. A true wild card in the family wherever he is dealt.

Florimel Oberons youngest little princess and the cutest little button in the family. She has grown up to be the most beautiful member of the family. It is almost like the sun itself shines just so, to bring out her best features.
She is used to getting her way and some might even consider her spoiled. Still she is one of Animeber's elder royals and thus as crafty as the rest.
Oh and she won that haughty laugh competition fair and square ! Even if Llewella got laryngitis that day.

I crossed Amber with Anime in one game the players had some of the most fun characters I had seen in a long while. While the setting was still midevil the tones were more Anime. Such as the person first in Endurance getting absolutelty clobbered and being in a  full body cast for an episode before being perfectly fine. Anime trope.

LostInShadow: I want to play in Animeber. That is hilariously sweet. ^_^ Good post.

I was thinking the other day that it would be interesting to try to hack Amber into a Lord of Light RPG. But I think that, compared to Amber, it probably wouldn't play out that well unless all the players had read the book. It's not as "tangible" as Amber.

Thanks for that, I had some other people express interest in it too recently.
If I ever start a new Animeber I will let you know. :D

Yes.  I think the main reason we never saw a Lord of Light RPG is because its generally trickier to be run without having read the book; and of course its also more limited in scope.
