I just stumbled across it on DriveThruRPG and the preview is pretty wild, to say the least. At first glance, I'm thinking Book of Erotic Fantasy crossed with Book of Vile Darkness.

Anyone know anything more about this? Just curious. I don't see myself ever using it, honestly, but it's riding that line for me between 'me want' and 'fuck no.'

Well Skortched 'Urf just released a RPG supplement for their satirical Hentai RPG Black Tokyo. It's name? Tournament of Rapists. (No the author didn't invent this trope. Google "Battle Raper". Yes, Japanese fighting games where you watch cutscenes of the victor raping the loser are a thing). The "censor this or I walk" comments have started, but who knows if Evil Hat has seen this or not.

Compared to Black Tokyo, Galactic Command and it's Barbarella/Heavy Metal supplement line Heavy Future are pretty tame. There's a lot of chuckles in the product blurbs for the Galactic Command stuff. An R version of Underground or Paranoia sounds like it might be an entertaining read.

Look, it's someones fantasy and creative work. You may not approve of the subject matter but freedom and liberty allow for Afros and boobies too.

On the Hentai Satire/OBS Banning Shit;

With a devotion to Liberty and Freedom of Speech you get a double-edged sword. Some stuff will be created you appreciate, other stuff will be created you loathe. And the crux of it? Another person standing right next to you could feel the exact opposite about those works.

Fact is, they are satirizing an actual fetish. If you don't approve, don't buy it, don't read it, and don't advertise it. Telling someone they CAN'T do something because it goes against your beliefs or tolerances is pure censorship and oppression.

Worse, it's just a distraction. The same deflection of responsibility Rape Culture drones use to justify rape.

Just today I saw a story out of India where a council of elders (all male) sentenced two girls to be raped and paraded around town naked because their brother eloped with a married woman. It's 2015. We have real equality problems in the real world. I'm sure this council of elders never played a pulp-space Afro 70's boobie RPG.

Rape is a horrible disgusting evil thing. It also happens to be a REAL thing (problem). It still happens even in our "enlightened" societies. Avoiding the topic of rape because it's squicky is just as Polly-Anna as avoiding the topic of war, famine, genocide, domestic violence, child abuse and human trafficking. If you and your friends want to pretend to be ultimate fighter rapists in a world where tentacle-monsters vie for the hottest girls to impregnate - knock yourselves out. If you want to play Miami Vice and stop drug traffickers from selling underage girls to the highest bidder? Even better. If you just want to pretend to be an elf and help your friends kill orcs, loot their bodies and eat their pie? Awesome.

As long as you understand rape is vile, you do not rape someone regardless of your gaming or viewing preferences (or fetishes) and you treat people with dignity and respect - there's no reason you can't separate this fantasy with the same objectivity you do playing an Elf, Vampire, Serial Killer, Roman Soldier, Greek Space Alien, Mind Controlling Mutant Super Hero, or Anthropomorphic Post-Apocalyptic Wanderer.

This is just another fucking distraction from the real issue. It's not the woman's fault, or how she's dressed, or how naked/drunk/high she is. It's not about video games brainwashing you. It's not about {insert deflecting excuse here}...

It's about a choice. Being a fucking evil douchebag coward who has to victimize someone to feel powerful and sexually fulfilled OR being a stand-up human being who treats people with dignity and respect. The person makes that choice. PERIOD. So, regardless of the existence of rape, or games with rape, or movies with rape, or Mylar Balloons with Ultimate Fighting Rape Champions logos... there is NO excuse or justification for raping someone.

Personally I don't like it when people tell me what to do. It fucking infuriates me. Having a company tell me I can't buy a Hentai Satire Rape game is going to piss me off. Judge me? Fine. Fuck you. You're a hypocritical pissy-pants. Banning controversial material is a fucking cop-out. Have the goddamned courage to stand up for something real like equality instead of rage-burning shit across the InterTubes is actually DOING SOMETHING.

tl/dr: Banning shit is not going to prevent rape. NOT raping people will.

Mark, I'm the author of both Dirty Galaxy and Tournament of Rapists (mentioned later in the thread). I figured I'd finally register here to talk about them a little.

Dirty Galaxy is disease and traps book for the Heavy Future Campaign Setting, which is a Pathfinder/D20 Modern based space opera setting. The whole point of the setting is to make a cheesy, retro-future setting based on everything that would of been shocking in 1985. You've got space swingers clubs, evil televangelists, space-Satanistis, all sorts of other off the wall crap.

It's heavily inspired by things like Heavy Metal, Barbarella and bad late 70s and early 80s sci-fi in general. The book itself is rude, nasty and crude but it's definitely not serious.

Tournament of Rapists, which is for my Black Tokyo Campaign Setting is a lot nastier. Intentionally so. This is a really, really adults only setting that deals with some nasty, unpleasant elements and has since the first book came out. Rape, misogyny, and the worst kinds slavery exist in the setting- mostly as evils for the players to fight.

Tournaments of Rapists was intended to expand on a villainous organization/plot-thread that's been out there since day one in the setting. The book's a really dark riff on fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Tekken, mixed with really nasty rape-fetish elements and gore. The intent was to create some really vile bad guys the players WANT to kick the living crap out of.

I'm actually kinda liking the sound of this Heavy Future setting... maybe it's the call-outs to Heavy Metal and less serious Euro-scifi like Barbarella. Kind of what I wanted more of from Star Frontiers back when.
There was loads of beating up on rapey villains back then too.
Sounds like it might be a source of ideas for Machinations of the Space Princess.

Funny that a good bit of stuff that would NOT have been shocking in 1985 raises quite a ruckus now. The 80's feel wilder and weirder to me nowadays.
