Review of A Red and Pleasant Land
Bogmagog:
Honestly, I feel like the 20% of the people who did not just cancel Zak because the mob said to or because they found him guilty of high crimes in the court of Twitter eventually come to the exact same conclusion as you stated.
You can be a reasonable person who realizes that a lot of artists are downright insane and try to make allowances for that in order to be able to appreciate his considerable talent but frankly Zak just makes it not worth it.
In short his mouth or because it's mostly online, Fingers write checks that his talent can't cash.
He needs to hire someone else as a go-between for the public and never say another word because as it is even those of us who love his work wouldn't buy his stuff because of Zak as a person is so toxic.
but he will not. He will keep doing what he has been doing. I think he only person who hates Zak more than the Crazy Mob is ....Zak.
Zak S:
Actually I like Zak.

LOL!
in my campaign the PCs went through part of "A Red & Pleasant Land" and are back for a second time after using the mirror in "Blood & Chocolate". They thoroughly enjoyed it the first time and are looking forward to a second run in a different part of Voivodja before they return to their base of operations in Vornheim.

Hello, I found the review by Joss Sticks tends to mesh well with my own impressions, after several years. Zak, whatever faults he may have, writes very well. He is actually erudite...and has superb design sense.
I also agree, to my surprise, with what Joss said about this adventure setting be more tempting to run than EX1 and EX2 by Gygax. I LOVED those modules as a young teen, but I never wanted to run my players through them, because I was afraid they'd ruin them for me.....Zak offers some very clever twists and braids on the usual tropes. Well done.
