This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm not new here.  I just don't post much.  :)

Design, Development, and Gameplay / One for the old schoolers...

1e AD&D for preference.  Acceptable alternatives include any pre-2e version of D&D (OD&D, Holmes, Moldvay/Cook, BECMI, RC), Runequest 2, or Rolemaster (the 1980's version, not RMCSS).  Traveller is good for a change of pace.  Edit:  Damn, forgot the BRP-based games.  Call of Cthulhu and Stormbringer top the list there.

I should add that the .pdf's on my hard drive are all products of which I have bought physical copies legitimately.  I ... obtained ... pdf's of my 1e AD&D stuff on the grounds that my books are starting to look a bit battered.

If they were still in print, I'd have bought replacements, but they just aren't.

If I'm GMing, I won't interfere in the players' choice of characters.  If they want to make a group which is incoherent and incapable of co-operating, then I'll let them do so without comment.

But I won't alter the level of challenge downwards just because they're not working as a team.  Since I design on the basis that the party will co-operate to the full, this usually means they're rolling new characters a few hours later.

So right now I have more material on FATAL than on the current edition of D&D. ;)

I have exactly equal amounts of materal on FATAL and on the current edition of D&D.  :)

I reckon I've got about 300.

Much love for original Traveller here.

Britain's a constitutional monarchy; seems to work.  *shrug*
