This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Welcome Back to the Megaverse!®
The Tomorrow Legion faces off against new apocalyptic threats from the darkest corners of North America and Earth's ancient past!

Building on the incredible success of Rifts® for Savage Worlds comes three new 192-page Worldbooks further detailing the factions, locations, and threats of Rifts® North America. Inside you'll find new allies, armaments, and abilities to aid Tomorrow Legionnaires in their fight against the evils of the Megaverse®.

  • Arcana & Mysticism:  Explores the Federation of Magic, Psyscape, and Techno-Wizard enclaves throughout North America, and the dire threats hiding within.
  • Blood & Banes: Details the struggle of dark heroes against the alien Xiticix Hivelands, encroaching Vampire Kingdoms, mysterious Dinosaur Swamp, and insanity of Madhaven.
  • Empires of Humanity:  Brings to life the wonders of human civilization from the Coalition States to the New West, and uncovers the secrets of the east coast.

All three books are 192 pages, hardback, and full-color throughout!

For our friends who supported the first Rifts® for Savage Worlds Kickstarter, we have an important announcement:

All the core Savage Rifts® material (The Tomorrow Legion Player's Guide, Game Master's Handbook, Savage Foes of North America, GM Screen + Garnet Town Gambit) will be revised and updated for the new Savage Worlds Adventure Edition core rules. These files will automatically replace your current files *after* the Kickstarter. (If you want to keep the older files, save them off and rename them, or contact us at site.admin at peginc.com.)

We are reprinting these revised and updated core books and offering them at a special discount in the current Kickstarter, including a new "Adventure Boxed Set."

The BEST DEAL is our Maximum Rifts® reward level--get everything for $150!

The Earth is decimated in an alien invasion—then the “backwards” survivors are invited to join the United Systems as a sort of half-hearted apology. Just like the star of the comics, the “Last Fear Agent” Heath Huston, your heroes are stuck cleaning up the mess in a planet-hopping, time-traveling, conundrum-unravelling journey against the strangest and weirdest aliens the Deep has to offer. And all with a few twists worthy of this phenomenal series!

Like most of you, sometimes we see a movie, read a book, or devour a comic series and think “I HAVE to play in that world!” You can’t stop yourself from thinking up cool adventures, the kinds of characters your friends might play, the critters they’ll fight, and all the weird places you can send them to explore.

That’s how we felt when we discovered The Goon™ and Fear Agent™ comics. The Goon™ is like nothing else out there. It’s equal parts zombie-smashin’, Noir, shady crime drama, and Cthulhu. You can play (or fight!) talking spiders, giant squids, bog lurks, or any number of other weird and shady characters. And you can do it in STYLE. Check out the very first paragraph of the book:

“This is the Goon’s story from his earliest days, just as it was told to this author by Charlie Noodles. And we all know Charlie Noodles is good people, so shaddap while we spin youse a yarn.”

Combine all this with an utterly revoltin’ Plot Point Campaign called “From Hell’s Heart We Bite at Thee!” and we think this gem will turn into one of your all-time favorites.

The Goon™ RPG for Savage Worlds Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/545820095/the-goontm-for-savage-worlds/description

And Fear Agent™. Wow. Check out this pedigree: Created by Rick Remender (Black Science, Seven to Eternity, Captain America), Tony Moore (The Walking Dead, Deadpool, Exterminators), and Jerome Opeña (The Avengers, Moon Knight, Uncanny X-Force).

This has all the hallmarks you want from Pulp SciFi…planet hopping, weird aliens, and even time travel…but best of all are the twists. We can’t tell you much without giving away the important stuff, but let’s just say the comics have some fantastic twists you won’t see coming, and we made sure our game pays sufficient homage to it.

Un-Stretch Goal!

As if all that weren’t enough reason to join us in launching these two fantastic series, we just announced our Un-Stretch Goal: PDFs for Deadlands, Rippers Resurrected, The Last Parsec, and East Texas University! Digital or higher level backers on either Goon™ RPG or Fear Agent™ RPG Kickstarter get these PDFs for FREE on DriveThruRPG after the Kickstarter!

Thanks for your support over the years, amigos y amigas! Please check out these latest Kickstarters and help us share the news. If you're looking to change up your gaming this spring, we think BOTH of these RPGs offer something fresh and new (or maybe that should be putrid and horrifying).

Pinnacle Entertainment Group Announces Rippers Kickstarter for Savage Worlds

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chandler, AZ October 15, 2015 – Pinnacle Entertainment Group, award-winning makers of Savage Worlds, Deadlands, and many other games, announced a two-week-long Kickstarter for their Victorian-era monster hunter setting, Rippers Resurrected. The Kickstarter is over 1000% funded and ends in one week.

Kickstarter link here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/545820095/savage-worlds-rippers-resurrected-rpg

Pinnacle first released Rippers in 2005, a setting book for the relatively new Savage Worlds game system. A Ripper character uses everything at their disposal to fight the creatures of darkness like vampires, werewolves, and other horrors that prey upon humanity. Some invest in the latest technology—incredible devices of iron and steel powered either by steam or, more recently, by electricity. Others practice ancient magic or perform holy miracles. A rare few bravely (or foolishly) wield arcane biotechnology “ripped” from the very creatures they hunt.

The Kickstarter for Rippers Resurrected includes PDF and print options for a Player’s Guide, Game Master’s Handbook, Game Master’s Screen with Lord of the Underworld adventure, and three map sets. Also available are specialty dice, Bennies (poker chips), and a Double Action deck of playing cards. Backers also have the opportunity to bundle Rippers with the entire Savage Tales of Horror line from Pinnacle, featuring adventures in a variety of horror genres from fantasy to science fiction.

Supporters recently unlocked a stretch goal giving all backers the complete Lost Library of Rippers. This includes the original Rippers Plot Point Campaign and the full length adventures Death on Dartmoor, The Night of Thoth, The Templar Legacy, and the long-lost Third Hand, Laughter of Death and The Black Ankh! It also includes a simple conversion sheet for those few mechanical differences since the original release.

The last stretch goal presents a new book for the Rippers line: Frightful Expeditions. If unlocked, this book will present Savage Tales around the world of Rippers featuring all seven continents.

An in-depth review of Rippers Resurrected by Game Geeks’ Kurt Wiegel is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE1fZ-kX9a4

The Kickstarter ends on Thursday, October 22nd at 3:30pm Eastern. Reward levels begin at $15 for players and $35 for game masters. Don’t miss out—back it today!

Hi there! This is Jodi Black of Pinnacle Entertainment Group, although I'm posting for a personal project: Carolina Game Tables.

Game Table Kickstarter Funded and a Staff Pick!
News from Pinnacle Entertainment Group
Released August 12, 2015 (updated with new pricing on upper levels)

Conover, NC—Most fans of board games, tabletop roleplaying games, war/miniature games, and jigsaw puzzles clear off their dining room or kitchen table to enjoy the hobby. Carolina Game Tables offers a dining room table with a removable top and inset play area—and they were funded in under five hours on Kickstarter and designated a Kickstarter Staff Pick. Tables are reported to ship in December, making this the best Christmas present for gamers this year.

Kickstarter Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1830353071/carolina-game-tables

The Game Table reward is only $1,599 for a 4 by 6 foot table indistinguishable in style from a classic dining room table. When the sturdy table top is removed, however, it’s Game Time! The recessed 32 by 50 inch play area is carpeted in burgundy cloth and is 3 inches deep. Most games fit inside with the table top on.

Other rewards are for a dining room set of six matching chairs and a table ($2, 799) and an ultimate game setup adding six side tables—which convert to extra bench seating—for $3,499. For those looking for low-end funding, a $25 level for a set of six leather coasters is popular and eligible for digital stretch goal rewards. The next stretch goal unlocks “Dinner and Dice, a Gaming Cookbook,” with recipes and anecdotes from game industry veterans.

From the Kickstarter page:

For tabletop roleplaying Game Masters and war/miniature gamers...imagine the looks of wonder when you uncover tonight's dungeon!

For board game players...imagine pausing your epic European game to eat a nice dinner! You can even leave last week's unfinished game in the play area and play a party game on the table top!

For jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts...how many times have you rolled up your 1000+ piece puzzle only to unroll it and find the pieces undone? Or can't clear off a space big enough to play? With the Carolina Game Table your puzzle is always available!

“Many roleplaying gamers recognize us for our work with Savage Worlds and Pinnacle Entertainment Group, but they may not know my family’s made furniture for three generations. Our company, Carolina Game Tables, is perfectly suited to deliver a beautiful, affordable, game table,” said Clint Black, Savage Worlds Brand Manager and co-owner of Carolina Game Tables with his wife Jodi Black.

News and Adverts / [Savage Worlds] The Last Parsec Kickstarter
« on: October 08, 2014, 10:48:26 am »
Thank you both! We appreciate your support and kind words.

Please do us a favor and let others know about the Kickstarter in any way you know to do so...here at theRPGsite.com and other forums, on social media, to your friends, and to your Friendly Local Game Store (there's a retailer level and they get FREE shipping in the continental US).

At this point in the campaign, most of the usual Savages who are connected to us by the Tuesday website update, our forums, or social media have backed the project if it appeals to them. We're *very* happy with how things are going, but we need to find those Savages--or those nostalgic for Star Frontiers--and let them know. I'm open to suggestions. :)

Thanks again for keeping it Savage!

News and Adverts / [Savage Worlds] The Last Parsec Kickstarter
« on: September 30, 2014, 04:36:31 pm »
Pinnacle Entertainment Group, creators of the award-winning tabletop roleplaying game Savage Worlds, launched a Kickstarter project for The Last Parsec on Tuesday, September 23, 2015. You can find the Kickstarter page here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/545820095/the-last-parsec-savage-worlds?ref=nav_search

The Last Parsec is a space exploration setting using the Savage Worlds Science Fiction Companion. A free 12-page document (The Last Parsec Primer) detailing the setting rules and background information on playing characters in The Last Parsec is available at https://www.peginc.com/product-category/the-last-parsec/ .

The Kickstarter for The Last Parsec offers print and PDF access to three setting books, a Game Master Screen with an adventure, 9 miniatures, 2 double-sided ship maps, Bennies (poker chips), and a double deck of playing cards. Stretch goals include a soundtrack by Harry Mack, Wild Dice, archetypes, more adventures, printable paper miniatures, a JumpCorp Requisition Kit with forms, ID cards, and death certificates, and finally the potential to unlock additional miniatures.

Pinnacle President Shane Hensley discussed some of the inspiration behind The Last Parsec in the first of several Design Diary releases, located here: https://www.peginc.com/product-category/the-last-parsec/

Here is a snippet from that document:
Imagine the awe and wonder of discovering an intelligent being. Or even some wild and terrifying animal. And that's what The Last Parsec is all about.

It's not hard science fiction or military science fiction or even space opera.
It's exploration science fiction where an explorer and her companions can be the first to step into the boundless void and discover things beyond our wildest dreams. It’s a setting where you can play alien races humanity has already encountered and experience the awe and wonder of the possible.

The sheer size of The Last Parsec also means that we wanted it to be something like a “sandbox”—or more appropriately, a “starbox”—game where Game Masters can make their own worlds, armies, societies, monsters, races, and adventures.

Savage Worlds was created by Shane Lacy Hensley. Savage Worlds, as well as The Last Parsec and the Pinnacle logo are all trademarks of Pinnacle Entertainment Group. For more information, visit http://www.peginc.com or contact Jodi Black, Marketing Manager for Pinnacle, at PEGJodi@gmail.com.
