Excellent thoughts, I agree.

Decades of Traveller, Star Fleet Battles, Centurion, Silent Death, and now The Fantasy Trip and maybe even (gasp) GURPS have burned hexes indelibly in my brain.

Except for Car Wars, of course, and War Machine.

Since I backed TFT and found my old "Man to Man" book, I'm itching to run a "tournament of gladiators" with my family.
150 points, no disadvantages, TL 4 maybe. Having not played M2M since the 80s I'm just learning via Gurps lite. Fun anyway...I like the IDEA of GURPS.

Not interested. I found a conversion for much of my 3e stuff to FFG's Genesys system.

The talent structure is a better way to handle career advancement than the cards.

I wish they had, the Renegade Legion setting was my favorite. I still have my Centurion boxed set!

4E was the edition that hit just as my daughter was old enough to be interested.  

To her, 4E D&D is the edition she learned first, and even now she prefers it over 5E that she's played at conventions and our FLGS. She misses the cards and the powers!

She meets Pundit's horrid GATEKEEPER requirement!  The NERVE of some people, expecting that you need to PLAY the game to be part of the community!

Pretty much every RPG purchase I make is predicated upon the (erroneous) assumption I'll find a group for THIS one!

Momentum is generated by PC's rolling more success results than the task requires.

Of course the players can spend Momentum to remove Doom from the GM's pool, if they don't want to spend it later. This can keep the GM from gaining too many and throwing the Kitchen Sink at them later!

I own and have played Mutant Chronicles, and recently received my Infinity rpg kickstarter books but haven't played yet.  My gaming group is my kids, and they grow up, and have their own things to do!

I love the life-path character generation, and the heat/momentum mechanic is really fun in practice when it gets going.

It plays much like the shared Karma pool in Marvel faserip.

The rulebooks for both games I have provide enormous options for characters, group arrangements, adventure seeds/plot hooks, and adversaries/'monsters'.

Overall I'm a fan of the 2D20 system, and love Modiphius' lineup.
