It came as a shock to me that Jim Butcher had released the 16th Dresden Files book: Peace Talks 6 years after the last book: Skin Game.

Of course that meant that I had to re read Skin Game first before I could move on to the new book.

What about the rest of you?  Since we can not read anything from the current group of woke scolds, what are you reading now?

My party has just completed the second book of the Age of Ashes adventure path and have rescued a young Red Dragon who was supposed to be sacrificed.

Now the party wants to make the Red Dragon an ally and take him back to their Castle (from the previous book), and the Dragon is down for that because living in a Castle sounds pretty neat for building up a hoard of treasure.

So my question is: What kind of shenanigans would a young Red Dragon want to get up to?

In some ways, Mr. White's article reminded me of the story you shared around accessible video games for your daughter. My heart broke for you and for Barbara when you lost her 8 years ago. I can only imagine that it is a painful subject and don't bring it up lightly.

When you brought up Amber's love of gaming and the desire to see accommodation from the game publishers, that may have been the first time that I really thought about the ways gaming had contributed to my life, my friendships, and my happiness, and what it would have meant if I couldn't have been a part of that. While everyone has challenges and setbacks, I have been truly blessed, and it is my sincere hope that others will spend some time imagining how their lives might have been different and how they might appreciate some kindness from the larger gaming community.

Toward that end, I was wondering if you would publish Derek White's article or permit me to transcribe it to the following discussion forum:

I have just completed the first book of the Age of Ashes campaign and am looking to do a little Downtime roleplaying before throwing the Party through Alseta's Ring **cough**Stargate**cough** into the Mwangi Jungle.

Now one of the Players has an Escaped Slave background and another has the Bounty Hunter background so I was thinking of maybe throwing a little oil in the waters by having a bounty turn up for the escaped slave.  Given that it is a Pathfinder game there is a better then even chance that it will devolve to a fight but there also is a possibility that they pursue a legal option and end up in Court.

Has anyone any good Court room drama examples and/or tips for making a fun session?

I saw these Player Rules and wondered if you had any to add to the list:

DnD Player Rules
1.   Never split the Party
2.   DM is God, and the DM is always right. Do not argue with the DM
3.   Always check for traps
4.   If the DM asks "Are you sure?" DON'T DO THE THING!
5.   REST. You don't know what is out there
6.   Never plot out loud. God is listening and taking notes.
7.   The skeleton always animates
8.   If something is too good to be true, it probably is.
9.   For the love of all that is Holy, don't go in the water. Or the fog.
10.   Write that down.  You wont remember it later. But the DM will
11.   Tricky lock? Ask the Barbarian to open it for you
12.   Anything is a weapon if you roll high enough
13.   Loot EVERYTHING!
14.   Never draw the card
15.   If the item is smarter then you are, it has its own agenda
16.   The Dragon is never your friend
17.   Don't get on the boat. The DM has a horde of nautical beasties they have never been able to use
18.   PROTECT THE HEALER!
19.   Talk to people. You never know what you don't know
