This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Seriously, what the hell did Pondsmith say/do that’s so egregious?

I hope that they go broke. It is good that their audience of customers dwindle to nothing, and their entire company goes bankrupt. They all need to be standing in the Unemployment line, and begging.

Semper Fidelis,

What did they do?

I don’t give money to people who hate me.

Smart choice.

Pondsmith and his clown company proudly supported Burn Loot Murder terrorists, so those scum can be their new customer base.

Did they? I wasn’t aware of that. The “white boys” comment when detailed the Voodoo Boys was a turn-off for me and that’s one reason I was curious how much bullshit made it into Red. If they keep that shit out of the game I’ll be fine with that, provided the rules aren’t ass.

So, how “woke” (or whatever you want to call it) is CP Red? I have seen rumbling of BLM and other nonsense and was curious if any face-palming political crap made it in. Also, is the system still a goofy mess as far as armor and melee are concerned?

...this now exists.

I’ve been waiting on this for a while and it just came out.

A bit more seriously though, look at who isn't there (or at least I didn't find):

  • No Monte Cook (just apparently everybody who works for him)
  • No Matt Mercer
  • No Matt Colville

I noticed that as well.

They believe in science but babies are clumps of cells? That alone denies them a place at the table. Also, I didn’t count but do they really think all gamers think like they do? I also only recognize maybe five people on the list and half of them don’t come as a surprise.

My biggest gripe is that Skarka didn’t put Far West on his list of accomplishments.

I polled all my fellow Asians as to how offended they were at "Asian Witch"...

No one seemed to give a shit.

I’m white so I think I’m supposed to be offended on your behalf...;)

And oh boy, I am not enough degrees away from the guy, socially. I know people who know him well. What I find reprehensible about it is A) him shutting off comments and (even more so) B) the social hostage taking his kind employ.

I really hope these people evaporate sooner than later.

I find it bizarre that the same people who need safe spaces flock to highly violent and/or sexualized games that so often touch upon mental illness and self-segregate their chosen victim-group(s) from those they paint as bad. Such social self-flagellation is head scratching, at best.

Edit: I’d rather be positive. RPGs are awesome.

Cool. Show me one player with that sort of mobility issue who wants to PLAY that mobility issue in game.

This is fetish, pure and simple.

I thought this same thing (only applying it to mental illness) when reading the free teaser for the upcoming supplement We Are All Mad Here, for MCG's Cypher System RPG. It's a fairy tale book to run such games in Cypher. Cool. No problem there.

The included setting is about playing mentally ill people whose conditions empower them and the book has over four pages dedicated to making the game safe for that. It uses all the politically phrasing, to include mentioning that classic fairy tales use ableist language. It has advice on being safe, to include the GM having an out if needed. It has multiple sidebars, one of which has a suicide hotline phone number! It mentions that the book isn't a medical manual and to seek professional help if needed as well as stating that you shouldn't make fun of mental illness...even though that is literally what they are doing making a game centered around playing mentally ill PCs!

The cognitive dissonance is astounding and while I know only a few mentally ill people, none of them enjoy it. Of them, those who game certainly don't see their illness as a superpower nor want it as a focal point of their fun.

Doing my usual blithe miss-the-point-completely gig, it occurs to me that you could make a fantastic RPG or literary hero out of a tragically paralyzed warrior given a magical suit of armour that allowed him to walk and fight again -- a suit of metal black as night, glinting blood red at the joints, animated by a dark supernatural force that demands its price from the wearer not in blood, but in tiny bits of soul and heart, wearing away one's humanity bit by bit . . . a suit that mysteriously, without warning, locks up in total immobility whenever the wearer comes too near a church, or a powerful cleric of Good, and which whispers . . . thoughts . . . to the wearer's mind whenever alone with innocents . . . .

Add in the obligatory "subscribe to my shit and buy my shit too" and you go well over 100%.

That said some of them are still enjoyable even if only in the manner of watching (listening to) a derailing train.

I (mostly) tease.

Couldn't get through this. 5 minutes in and I'm suspecting that sans advertising your game, you have a one or two line hot take on a tweet that is somehow stretched across 22 minutes.

I hope your game system makes more conservative assumptions about people's time and attention span!

You can sum up 99.9% of anything Pundit says about RPGs into "OSR good. All other things me no likey are bad-wrong!"

This is some of the most entitled racist shit I've ever read here on the site. Nice troll bro.

I support Black Lives Matters. I support the riots because they're working. Look at your man-baby ass spewing your bullshit all over the site. Obviously tweaked a nice knot in your panties heh?

Fucking shit-hammock.

Everything is raciiiiiiist! Everything's a problem when you're on the Left! Everything is raciiist, when you're morally bereft!
