Kyle's comment about changing the names to protect the guilty doesn't sway me. Why would I want to protect the guilty?

Adrian was quite the character. Actually a nice guy, just clueless and couldn't cut the munchkin gamerism. He had no concept of self-awareness or personal space...he tried to get as close to you as possible while talking. So I would step back, to maintain my "personal bubble". Then he'd step forward to close the distance again. As soon as I became aware of this, I started a game. I was able to lead him across an entire parking lot without him being aware of it. When he (FINALLY!) stopped talking, he was like, "wow, how did we get all the way over here?" Just clueless. My group asked me to ask him to stop coming several times. Every time I told Adrian this, he'd swear that he could change and stop "whatever it is they hated" but then he'd start again IMMEDIATELY, without pause, once we let him back in. Just clueless.

And you know, we were pretty mean to him. Although he was one of the very few people I'd ever had to ban from my Open Table, if he turned up tomorrow ready to game...I'd probably let him back in, just to see if he'd grown up any over the years. And to find out whatever happened to him.

I do. I've played Every Edition, but sticking with 3.5 House rules.

The ROD of the RED.
It had 2 functions: to increase the target's HD by 2...
...or to turn the target to ruby. Like Flesh to Stone. Only Ruby.

And it did what you wanted it to only 1/3 of the time...otherwise, it would do the opposite.

So, you'd point the Rod at target, and roll my ruby d6. On a 2 or 3, it did what you were aiming for, otherwise, it did the opposite effect.

The idea being that it was a very dangerous item to use.
If you tried to use it to turn a foe to could wind up making it bigger and stronger and tougher instead. And you couldn't use it on yourself to get the +2 HD, or else you might turn yourself to ruby.

This was one of the first magic items I created myself. Can you tell?

This is the saddest I've ever gotten. Even 4E didn't make me this sad.
At first, it was kind of inconceivable to me...I thought there would always be gaming magazines in dead tree format. And I am sad.
The only good part is that I worked for Waldenbooks when they went down, so I got the last issues of Dragon and Dungeon for free.

I give out the best XP bonuses to players who pause to collect their thoughts before a dramatic scene. As a big fan of Star Trek, I love dramatic speeches. Sometimes players will write down what they want to say.

Probably in terms of Organization. Get Organized and Keep It Simple, Stupid.
It's better to have 10 things you use regularly than try to have a hundred or a thousand things and never be able to find anything.
And I wish I'd started a game journal and Player list earlier.

A player contact list- Name, phone #, character's name, email, availability.
And I wish I'd had all my players sign off on my Player's Handbook or DMG like a high school yearbook. A little sentimental, but I've had hundreds of players over 20 years, and it's hard to remember them all.

I'd agree with RPGpundit...except I looked at the board before I logged in, and my posts are all invisible. So I guess there's enough censorship for every site. Sigh. Fingers to point everywhere and not a single mirror in the house.

Kobolds lost their deity in the GODSWAR, and converted to Talona, goddess of poison and disease in Forgotten Realms. Kobolds use poison, and are unseelie court- responsible for poison mushrooms, poison ivy, oak, sumac, thorns and brambles, putting roots and vines across pathways.

Goblins are numerous, they horde. Plus I adopted some of the cards from Magic the Gathering.

Hobgoblins are organized and lawful. In the Desert of Desolation, they work for Blue Dragons. The conflict in the Desert is not Good vs. Evil, but Law vs. Chaos (represented by brass and copper dragons).

Orcs are semi-honorable, like Klingons.

I didn't have to change Gnolls or Bugbears.

I'm more in "purge" mode right now, trying to pare down to just the stuff I need, want, like, or actually use. But, I'd still like:

Role Aids: Morgaine
The Keep (module based on the movie)
Castle Greyhawk (the funny module)
Buffy D20
Metamorphosis Alpha (any / all versions)
Grimtooth's Traps Lite
Arcana Evolved
The Galactus clicky
that's about it.

The Portable Hole has to be the item I'd MOST like to see in the real world.
I'd put my game room in there. Every book, module, miniature, dice. I'd be ready to game at a moment's notice anywhere, all the time. Heaven.

In game...I use it pretty much for the same thing, except magic books and material components. and treasure.
