This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.
The message boards have been upgraded. Please log in to your existing account by clicking here. It will ask twice, so that it can properly update your password and login information. If it has trouble recognizing your password, click the 'Forgot your password?' link to reset it with a new password sent to your email address on file.

So, from what I can gather, the following appears to be the general timeline of Shadowrun:

1st Edition:   2050-2054
2nd Edition:  2054-2059
3rd Edition:   2060-2064
4th Edition:   2070-2073
5th Edition:   2075-2077

Where does 6th Edition pick up?  Does it advance the timeline significantly?

Is there a good book (or two) from 5th and 6th Editions that presents the real meat of the updated lore, without getting buried in new mechanics?

I've got a pretty extensive/complete collection of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Edition stuffs, and some token 4th Edition.  Don't have any desire to go beyond 1/2/3 as far as the mechanics go, so no real agenda to collecting much out of 4/5/6, but if there's some decent stuff that covers what I'm looking for, I'd certainly entertain it.

Thank you!

They've cancelled their Kickstarter as a protest/boycott of the platform for supporting terrorists and seditionists:

They've restarted their campaign at IndieGoGo:

7 days left to back!

$18 for the new expansion

Add-ons:

$28 for the original game
$10 for the problematic card pack
$10 for the celebrity NPC pack

Help Desk / Disabling editing of posts after a certain time
« on: September 14, 2020, 08:16:04 PM »
Is there a way to turn off the ability of a user to edit or delete their post after a specific time, say a day, or a week?

I'm getting sick of finding older threads, where someone got a bug up their ass, and deleted stuff months or years later, rendering the entire conversation useless.

I'd like to second the posts per page, was just looking for that setting, and can't find it.

As far as themes, I would like to see some different options.

Something just "popped" for me, as I'm seeing the "new" icons now, and the functionality they provide is what I was missing.

Thank you!

Has this feature been removed, in the new software?  If not, any description of the icon I should be looking for?  I see the "last post" but the old software, if there was a thread with 50 posts, and I'd already read 1-30, with 31-50 being posted after I read the previous, I could click this little blue icon, and it would take me to post #31 (next unread).

:(  Was hoping that ya'll had adopted some kind of reasonably advanced notice that these were going to happen, so I can catch them live.

Referring to Mercer as either a founder or a legend is false advertising.

Is there a source for this?

The "creator's" Twatter feed:  twitter.com/mustangsart

I don't think the person who made it, regardless of their own handicaps nor not, did it so that every disabled person out there would be forced or feel bad for not using it. They're just one person, just like other people who are disabled are their own person. No one's trying to be "Speaker" for an entire group of people, that's my take.

Given that she's attacked folks who are legitimate wheelchair users, accusing them of being "ableist" for criticizing her shitty ideas, I'm going to go ahead and say you're off base on this one.

Are you familiar with the lore around beholders and how they build their lairs? Specifically, they don't bother with stairs. Or ladders. Just circular shafts they can go up and down in.

That's why my wheelchair fires grappling hooks from the arm-mounted crossbows, duh.

Did this end up happening?  Couldn't find the log on your site.

Thanks!
