SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

OK. I would like to do a bit of an experiment. It will require faith between the players and GM (me) to accomplish.

Would anyone be interested in a Stone Horizons pbp (play(test) by post)?

You will have to show faith in me to the degree that you won't have all of the rules at your disposal and i will show faith in you that the stuff i send you will stay with you. I've done some playing with my group, but as yet nothing has been attempted outside of my group. Maybe not having to go through the whole document will appeal to some folks.

If you don't know what i'm talking about, check out the Stone Horizons thread in the game design forum. Also i'm attaching the Stone Horizons FAQ document here for more info.

If it gets going and then stutters to a halt, this might be a risk, but frankly, this is more of a test than a full-throttle game (although i will treat it as any other game i would run on here), so i have no fears on that count. Some of what is done in this pbp game might find itself in the game and if we manage to keep this going to everyones enjoyment, then you get your names in the Playtesting credits.

I would prefer if we could communicate via e-mail rather than on this forum for any in-depth discussion of the game, but we will have an IC and OOC thread like other pbp games.

So, if you want in, give me a peep in this thread and we'll see what happens! If not, no worries! :)

You know I'd do what I could to help - this sounds intriguing...

Thanks Jim! :)  I don't think a 1 on 1 is going to work, so we'll see if anyone else fancies something a bit different. It would be cool to get something going.

Nicephorus

I'd like to give it a try.  Traffic is probably low as this is Thanksgiving weekend - you might get more takers on Monday.

One Horse Town

Cool. We could manage with 2, i guess. I'll see if there are any more takers by Tuesday. :)

Premier

So, yeah. I'm interested, too. Just tell me when the game's supposed to start, and I'll reread the newer rules in the appropriate thread by then.
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

I'm used to more free-form pbp roleplaying, but this sounds interesting. I'd like to participate. I might be missing some understanding but I'll catch up. :)

Oh'p.  Never mind. :)
