This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

"Aye, I think this is the key 'ere, but I can't get to it." - Porcius replies. Girl, now that you're free, could you go look for something to break these planks with? A chisel, a strong cutting tool, something of the sort."
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

"Be safe Miss , but be quick. We don't know if the tide is rising or falling . If it's falling We have some time, but if it's on the rise We may be drowned in half an hour."

Jon whispers a quiet prayer of thanks to the Sea God, then says, "We thank you m'lady for your aid. I would echo our companion's urging to make haste, the Sea has been kind to us today, but our Lord is stern and only helps those who help themselves and stay strong... the tide will not wait."

"Do you see the keys, Mister dwarf?" the young woman asks with a very tired and weary voice.

Arnould makes a mental note of the girl's reaction to his invective.
This might prove useful later on.

He doesn't say anything at the moment. He doesn't want to add to the confusion, and hopes the dwarf saw right.

"Aye, girl, I think these are the keys, right 'ere." - Porcius replies. "But I can't get to them, they're stuck under some planks. That's why I need you to go and fetch something I can use to break or pry up the wood."
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

Drohem

The woman gets up and wearily makes her way over to Poricus' bunk, which was closest to the keyring, and gets on her hands and knees and starts searching for the keys.

After several minutes, she exclaims with relief, "I've found them!"

She unlocks the shackles on her wrists, and moves to unlock Poricus' shackles.  After that, she quickly moves down the line one-by-one and unlocks everyone's shackles.

OOC: What do you do now?

Premier

"Ah, much better!" - Porcius exclaims, rubbing his wrists. Thank you, girl. Now," - he turns to everyone, raising his voice a bit - "I think introductions will be in order soon, but first let's attend to immediate business."

"We need to get to the deck and see what's happened. Where are all the slavers - not that I miss 'em,
- he spits - but why have they abandoned the ship? So, I suggest we all go up and see what can be seen."
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

Cargoman

"We must find out where We are. On a reef, a shore or atop a mountain in the middle of the deep"Kelvan says above the crash of the sea .
Please let it be a shore, he thinks to himself. Giving a heartfelt "Thank You!" to the girl as She unlocks his restraints .
He looks about to see if any of the others need help making it above deck .

Tommy Brownell

"Agreed, friend dwarf. As the young lady unlocks Jono, he gives a small bow. Thank you ever so much.

Jono carefully moves to the exit...stairs up the deck, I presume, being careful to test the way, to ensure that it's stable.

"Thanks m'lady," Jon says quietly, "and thanks to Valkur for watching over us. I suggest we make for yon beach."

Jon rubs his wrists as he carefully makes his way towards the bow of the ship.

The young woman only nods as she is thanked by the men, and as they gather to try and exit the slave hold of the ship.  The slave hold runs about two-thirds of the length of the galley, from the bow to about one-third of the way to the stern.  There is only one hatch that leads out of the slave hold and onto the deck.

Jono moves to the hatch and tries to push open it, but it is locked or barred from the other side because it doesn't budge on bit.  One of the other men moves to help Jono push on the hatch, but it still doesn't budge.

Tommy Brownell

"Sonofa--...it's jammed or locked or somethin'."

as the lady moves to unlock my chains I feel the excitement of freedom buoy my spirits for the first time since my capture "All blessings on you las!" as I hug her quickly after freeing me!
"Now to business." rubbing my wrist and moving towards the splintered bow...walking with care amongst the wrack and ruin.
