This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The PBP request thread
« on: May 16, 2006, 09:27:00 PM »
This is a thread for letting people know what type of PBP games you would like to play in (as opposed to PBP games you would like to run).  The theroy here is if someone is perhaps thinking of running Game X, but perhaps is hesitant because they think no one would want to play said game, such a thread might give them a better idea of whether or not running Game X would be viable.

Of course, just because a lot of people may want to play Game X doesn't actually obligate anyone else to actually run it.  But perhaps seeing enough interest might inspire someone to do so...

(edit: okay, I'll put my list in a seperate post)

Anyways, I'll start off with the list of games I wouldn't mind playing in (not all at once!):

Traveller (classic)
Tunnels & Trolls
Arduin
Villains & Vigilantes
MEGS (DC Heroes/Blood Of Heroes)
Morrow Project
Timelords
The Fantasy Trip
Over The Edge
Unknown Armies
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Castles & Crusades

EDIT: added a few extra games to the list

I'd like to play in a game that doesn't die after a couple of weeks. I had one that lasted long, but it's seemingly over now.

After abandoning two to wither and die, I've sworn never to run one again, no matter how tempting a Slayers of the Caribbean game sounds.  But I would be eager to play in some Buffy or All Flesh games, or anything else that sounds really interesting.
I have a theory, it could be witches, some evil witches!
Which is ridiculous 'cause witches they were persecuted Wicca good and love the earth and women power and I’ll be over here.

One way around the problem is NOT to run the flavour of the month type games.

How many non-starting Firefly/Serenity games came and went...

With the influx of new posters here, is there anyone out there interested in running a PBP game here on the boards?

Anyone?

Definitely not interested in running. Playing might be another matter.. Over the Edge could work really well for PbP.

I'm always tempted to run an Aztec-themed adventure I have, but I don't enough time at the moment. It's a possibility for the future, though.

I am running an online Dungeons and Dragons game at Animal Ball. We could use at least one new player to fill in our gaps.

That would be some serious coolness.

I could also run a third edition Shadowrun game here, if there was enough interest.

I would genuinely look forward to watching or playing in this when it happens

I would love to play a PBM based on Vertigo/Helblazer.
It has the right enviroment as each character woudl eb tough on their own and doesn;t rely on party groups. Take teh lucifer comics for example you have Lucifr himself, Elaine, Maz, all of whom would be great PCs and then there is John Constantine himself and all those magicians of various ilks.
a game maybe using the old Mage WoD rules in a Hellblazer universe would be pretty fantastic I think.
