This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). I had a great deal of fun. I don't often get to play a character like Sulath. Not that I mind playing them, just a rare oppurtunity.

I think skype is almost as fun as face to face--the humor, jokes, and OOC silliness occurred but didn't truly slow the game down too much. (Compared to my face to face games.) Sure it does a little, but its a first game and everyone is finding their characters fee, it felt like a normal face to face game. Only with less snacks.

Thanks to you two for the fun. (Since I don't know if the GM or others post here :D)

Yeah, I had a blast too guys!  :)

OK, we had our first real session last night.  We have four players and characters in the game.  The GM of the game is Dirk Cjelli.

The characters are:

  • T'Sarma- Dracartan Scout (Drohem)
  • Speak to Animal- Jaka Hunter (Werekoala)
  • Tok- Yassan Technomancer (Thunderstep)
  • Sulath- Sauran Shaman (Silverlion)
The game opens with all of the characters working together on a caravan traveling from Dracarta to the city-state of Hadj.  T'Sarma and Tok are old friends who met when they served together in the Dracartan military.  Both T'Sarma and Speaker with Animal were out and ahead of the caravan scouting when they spotted some Avirs circling in the distance.  They rode in the direction of the circling avians when they spotted a lone figure on the walking on the dunes.  They rode closer to investigate and they could see that it was Cymrilian man with a cloth wrapped around his head, wearing a longsword at his side, and was wounded with blood on his shirt.  After coming to the conclusion that this wasn't some kind of trap, the two scouts rode up to the lone figure.

The Cymrilian man was grateful to see T'Sarma and Speak with Animal.  After giving the man some water, he said that his name was Malahan.  He was a windship Captain and his craft crashed landed about four days ago.  The scouts return to the caravan with the wounded windship Captain.  Once back at the caravan, the Sulath applied first aid to Malahan's wounds.  Once T'Sarma told Tok that there was a crashed windship, he became very excited.  The group questioned Malahan further and he revealed that when he and his First Officer, a Blue Aeriad, left the wreckage there were five other survivors.  He also said that his First Officer fell to the Avirs that the scouts saw circling in the distance.

T'Sarma asked the caravan master if he could take a few men, some Aht-Ra, and water with him to rescue the survivors, if any are still alive by the time they reach the wreckage.  The caravan master agreed as long as some kind of profit could be made from the situation.  Speak with Animal, Tok, Sulath, and T'Sarma leave with Malahan for the wreckage site.  Malahan is a skilled navigator, T'Sarma an experienced desert scout, and Speak with Animal an experienced tracker.  Speak with Animal started following out Malahan's tracks.  Close to nightfall, the group finds an area covered with blood.  They find Malahan's First Officer's Dart-Thrower, but no corpse.  The group moves away from the bloody scene and makes camp for the night.

Sulath took the first watch since he would be too sluggish at any other time.  On his shift, he hears and sees something moving near their mounts.  He wakes up T'Sarma just as a large creature jumps onto the back of one of the Aht-Ras.  T'Sarma recognizes the creature as a large male Omnivrax.  Both Sulath and T'Sarma yell in alarm as they grab their weapons and move to protect the mounts.  The quick and adroit Speak with Animal was the first to attack the Omnivrax, but the creature dodged the incoming sword slash.  It was not so lucky against Sulath's savage hacking attack with his massive War Axe.  T'Sarma moved into and put his spear through the creature's eye and into it's small brain.  The creature died instantly on T'Sarma's spear.  The attacked Aht-Ra was killed in the attack.  T'Sarma dragged the dead bodies out and far away from the group's campsite.  The rest of the evening passed uneventfully.

As the group waited for Sulath to properly warm up in the morning, Tok went to work on creating a makeshift sled to carry Sulath between two Aht-Ras since he was too heavy to ride the creatures.  As a skilled Technomancer, it was fairly easy for Tok to create it in the field with the few and precious supplies that they carried with them.  The second day of travel passes uneventfully and the group finds another suitable campsite for the night.  During the second watch, Speak with Animal notices a winged and seven-foot tall creature walking casually towards their campsite.  He sneaks up to the creature and confronts it.  The creature says he's a fellow traveler in the desert and came to their camp to talk.  Speak with Animal yells a warning shout to the group, who all wake up to the alarm.

After the group decides that this strange humanoid creature isn't a threat, they invite him into their campsite.  The creature says his name is T'Fel and he produces several dead Avirs as a gift and offering.  As they start talking, T'Sarma asks T'Fel if he saw a windship wreckage back in the direction that he came walking into the camp.  T'Fel said yes that he found the wreckage but that it was being held by half a dozen Rajans who shot at him.  He agrees to take us back to the wreckage in the morning.
