His ears ringing from the blast and his head shaken Rask will throw caution to the wind. Using his cat like grace he will attempt to spring up from Prone on to the table in front of him and from there launch himself with Torasta at the back of the fellow trying to beat Dulce with drawn weapons.

I draw my short sword and slash at the nearest of the two guards.

Spoiler
i rolled an 8, but for some reason that isn't on the log:

I rolled three times (8,12, and 20) but nothing showed till the third roll on the log. The 8 should be my result.

The Inheritor picked up the pace and started jogging through the corn field.  Duncan looked behind him as he ran through the corn rows and he could see a clear path of broken corn stalks, but as he continued and picked up the pace with the Inheritor and elf he lost sight of the soldier standing in the back door of La Taberna de Rosa Dulce.  Turning back to look in front of him, he nearly lost sight of the elf and Inheritor because they suddenly turned at a 45-degree angle and started jogging north east through the corn field.  Angered and in pain and discomfort, the resolute dwarf followed them.  They quickly cut their way through the corn field and exited it somewhere in the northeast corner and emerged in a row of trees.  Looking across the trees, both Finnur and Duncan can see Luiza, the barmaid, and several others have run this way and are hiding in the barn.  As she starts to close the wide barn door, she motions to you to come quickly into the barn with her and the others.

Meanwhile, inside the common room of La Taberna de Rosa Dulce, a deadly contest still hangs in the balance:

"Meus camaradas!" Privado Alves screams out in shock and horror as he sees half his comrades decimated by the explosion.

In an incredible feat of strength and agility, Rask kipped up without skipping a heartbeat and jumped onto the table.  He could see the amazement in both Privado Babajide's eyes and Privado Mateus' eyes an instant later as he lept off the table to tried and jump behind and attack Privado Babajide.  Even though both soldiers saw the attack coming, only Privado Babajide was in a position to do anything about because Dulce suddenly drew his short sword from it sheath and advanced on Privado Mateus.  Rask leaped from the table and Privado Babajide slashed at him with his longsword, but narrowly missed the leaping rakasta.  At the same instant that Rask landed behind the soldier, he slammed into him with a vicious body punch.  However, Privado Babajide's studded leather armor took the force out of the blow.  Privado Mateus and Dulce engaged in a sword duel, but neither was able to land a telling blow on his opponent yet.

Privado Alves charged across the room and slashed viciously at Rask, landing a grievous blow along the rakasta's ribcage.  The blow knocked Rask off his feet, and he fell to the ground hard.  He slipped into a swirling void of unconsciousness.

Dulce Rivera could hear the shout from someone in command outside the front doors of the common room, "Sargento Araullo, get those men in there!"

"Sim, Tenente!" a gravelly voice quickly retorted, "Ir! Digite rapidamente!"

Bloody Stupid Johnson

Duncan continues following the others to the barn, panting a bit and looking irritable (not to mention worried).
'Hope you have a plan, lady.' he says to Luiza, doubtfully. 'They won't have much trouble following our tracks this far.'

Duncan runs in through the barn doors and says in an irritable and doubtful tone to Luiza, "hope you have a plan, lady.  They won't have much trouble following our tracks this far."

The Inheritor and the elf also move into the barn, and Luiza closes the door immediately behind them as she says, "plan?  You must leave Paz del Sol now!  If you are caught by El Jaguar Rojo and his men then you will be in a world of pain, and if you stay you will bring pain down upon us all.  Los Matónes will hurt everyone looking for you."

Inside the barn with the Inheritor, Finnur, Duncan, and Luiza were three more Narvaezans.  One was a man who looked to be in his thirties, and two women in the mid-twenties.  They all nod in agreement with Luiza's assessment.

The Inheritor clasps Luiza's hands and says calmly, "yes, we understand, Luiza.  Tell Senhor Costa I am sorry about the horses and any troubles."

Turning to the rest of the Narvaezans, she continues, "if asked, you all saw us run into the barn and ride away on horses."

"You must hurry, Inheritor Alhabashi!" Luiza replies quickly as she grasps the Inheritor's mind.

Looking to the others in the barn, she says in a commanding tone, "Vicente, Chica, Madalena!  Help saddle some horses!"

Everyone springs into action and starts assembling three mounts with gear and tack to ride.  Within a couple of minutes, the group quickly and efficiently has the mounts nearly ready to ride.

Suddenly, the door to the barn from the east side opens and three men move in quickly with weapons in their hands, and the oldest man, distinguished by his salt-and-pepper beard, yells loudly, "what goes here?!"

The Inheritor finishes mounting her horse, and she smiles down at the man as she says, "Julio, it is me, Nina.  We are in trouble and must beg the use of your property in all haste."

The older man blinks and recognition crosses his face.

His demeanor softens and he says to his men, "lower your weapons and open the doors for them!"

Turning to the Inheritor, he walks over and gently grasps her hand as he smiles and says tenderly, "of course, meu Salvador, of course you may take the mounts."

He steps back and says in a forceful tone before slapping her mount's rump, "now, Ride!  Passeio, Inheritor Alhabashi!"

She nods down to him with a smile as her mount bolts out of the barn, and Finnur's and Duncan's mounts follow closely behind.  The Narvaezans all step back and watch the strange trio of foreigners ride out of Senhor Costa's barn door.

The group rides out of the barn and between the farm house and the barn and across a field to the northeast.  As far as both Finnur and Duncan can tell, the Inheritor seems to know where she is riding and leading them immediately upon riding away from the barn.

Meanwhile, inside the common room of La Taberna de Rosa Dulce, the deadly contest comes to a conclusion:

Despite the three to one odds, Don Dulce Rivera presses the attack on Privado Mateus and tries to stab him with a decisive blow.  As the four men square off against each other, a squad of eight Los Elegidos soldiers and their commander rush into the room.  The soldiers wear studded leather armor, and are armed with longswords and daggers.  However, the commander wears scale mail armor, and walks into the common room with a cocked and ready-to-fire Wheellock belt pistol in the up position.

Immediately upon seeing the situation did Lieutenant Luis Pereira assess the situation, and, as he leveled his pistol in the direction of Dulce Rivera, he yells in a commanding voice, "Soldados!  Do not kill that man!"

A heartbeat later Dulce sees his best opportunity as the soldiers were momentarily distracted by the arrival of the squad, and he thrusts his short sword into the rib cage of Privado Mateus.  Unfortunately, the soldier's armor turns the blades deadly force at the last instant.

Privado Alves, Privado, Mateus, and Privado Babajide yell together nearly simultaneously, "Sim, Tenente!"

As the squad of new soldiers file into the common room, the trio of original soldiers sheath their swords and start beating up Dulce with their fists.  Privado Alves lands a heavy blow to Dulce's chin as Privado Mateus moves low and punches Dulce hard in the gut.  Privado Babajide moves behind Dulce and lands a devastating haymaker blow to his temple from behind.  Dulce sees stars for a brief moment before passing out and slipping into unconsciousness.
