The PitchLong ago, the armies of the archmage Ruche Darksong brought the kingdoms of Valuria to their knees. The tale of this defeat is one still sung by the minstrels around campfires and taverns across the land. Many have heard that he was entombed in the Helmsvorn Mountain vale, and that many of his treasures lay there with him. The fire sword, his book of spells, even his cloak was rumoured to be enchanted. It is said his wealth was buried with him as well, for he laid a curse on those who slew him, forbidding them to benefit from his defeat.
As well, the tale is that the tomb has never been found, and never been plundered. You are an adventurer, finding your way to the vale in the Helmsvorn Mountains, only to discover a frigid winter storm is descending on the valley in late autumn, and you may be stuck there until the spring thaws open the passes once more...
Game DetailsThis is designed to be a PbP, hosted here
therpgsite.com. Players are expected to post once each weekday, and will be passed should they fail to do so. All characters will begin as level one, and be fresh faced adventurers out to either find the tomb of Ruche Darksong, or travelling to the valley for other reasons.
Rolls will be handled by the DM (myself), but posted. Interested players, please post your race and/or class combination. The books are available in used book stores, on your own shelf or at
dndclassics.com. Message me for help if you don't know what edition of D&D this is.
I am looking for around 4-6 players, and may allow some players to play two characters. The only significant house rule in effect is that of luck points - each character receives 1-3 luck points at character creation, and gains 1 luck point each time s/he levels up. Luck points are used to avoid grisly and meaningless deaths (at player option), or to re-roll any roll the player chooses.
Please post in this thread with interest. The setting is generic fantasy, and the world outside the vale will be developed and detailed as characters are brought into the story. This is not designed to be a comic meat-grinder campaign, but rather a fun romp through a dungeon and encounter series.
Thanks for your interest.
