This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[Recruitment] DCC RPG Funnel - Perils of the Sunken City

A tentative call - as i'm still getting up to speed on DCC, but the funnel is pretty straightforward.

The Great City is old and faded, a pale reflection of its former
glory. Life is a challenge for most, but for the weak and unconnected,
the city is a place of unrelenting hardship harboring
neither hope nor promise of escape.

With one exception: the Sunken City.

Most find death in the crumbling ruins that stretch beyond sight
into the mists southward; once rich districts now claimed by
swamp and dark denizens. But for the desperate few, the ruins
offer treasures the Great City denies them: fortune, glory, and
a fighting chance!

I need 15 or 16 victims, erm, I mean heroes to form a Free Company in order to delve into The Perils of the Sunken City.

Only 0 Level peons need apply.

If I get 3 players, then you'll create 5 characters each.
If I get 4 players, then you'll create 4 characters each.

First 4 confirmed players are in.

Hrms. I'd be more tempted by a IRC/Chat game. I'd like to try it but don't have the book :(

Could I talk you into IRC?

If not, no worries.

Here are my PC's:

http://tome.webs.com/DCCPCs.pdf

Uthrael, Elf Forester. He's grown up in and around the woods all his life, not as tough as some but reliable and stubborn. He's friendly and open hearted and quick as a snake.

Rhinwell, Rutabega Farmer. Tough as dirty goblin socks. He's a hard worker but despite his standoffish nature is quick witted.

Feyn, Herbalist. He's not very likeable and very clumsy but he's lived through three winter sicknesses, and is a hardy sort.

Hurin Hatbinder, from "the" Hatbinder clan. Known for their fine hats all over the realm. Hurin is a bit of a slacker, and prefers relying on his luck in gambling, than his hat-crafting to turn a coin.

Groovy. Well, if Drohem & Benoist can create their characters, that'd be fine.

I presume that Drohem doesn't have the book as well?

It makes little difference for 0 level play, really.

If i need you to roll funky dice, i'll let you know. For Silverlion & Drohem, in DCC there are fumbles & criticals (on a natural 1 and 20 respectively) - i'll let you know what to do if it crops up. It's basically a d20 game with lots of funky adjustments. At 0 level most of the mechanical doodads don't come into play, so not having the book shouldn't be a handicap.

As for dicerolling - i'm easy. I have no need to see links to your rolls. We're all adults here. It might be easier just to use the roller i linked to above.

If you can post your PCs, we'll get into the nitty-gritty later.

Drohem

Yeah, just tell us what to roll and when. :)

Here are my characters:

If there's still room I would like to join the game.

EDIT: Just to be upfront, I've never played in a PbP game before but I do have the book and really like DCC rpg.
