While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). DM: Ooops. Corrected the map. :D

There is no visible exit by the statue. The sculpture seems to be part of the wall itself, actually. Gareth looks more closely at its mingled shapes. It is very intricate, with many spikes and crevices. The half-elf can see, however, that there is a crack here within the sculpture itself that doesn't seem to be the result of some accident or damage. It is here by design, and seems to run throughout the sculpture, drawing an arc that could be some kind of opening or door, indeed.

Hum. I gesture the orcs to come closer and point at the door so they can see it. Maybe they know how to open it?

The large orc who interacted with Gareth the most comes closer and inspects the statue. He can see what the half elf is pointing at, and nods approvingly at the discovery. This lets Gareth know right there that they weren't aware of this crack's presence before he showed it to them.

OK, so they don't know there was a door there. Well, I'm examining the statue as thoroughly as I can without touching anything. Visually only. I gesture the orc in case he wants to help me, but I indicate that the statue is not to be touched. I am looking for any trigger, handle, discoloration that may indicate the presence of a mechanism for opening the door.

The irregular shapes which participate to the sculpture's sense of dynamism and realism prove to be quite an obstacle to Gareth's endeavor. It is a wonder he could locate this crack running through the mess of spikes and bodies and curves of robes and stone flesh in the first place.

He is studying the artwork with patience, however, and soon the large orc joins him to figure out what might be triggering the opening of this large, human-sized pannel they just found hidden there. The orc follows the half-elf's lead. Gareth doesn't know how long the orcs' cooperation is going to last, but it seems quite obvious that they are more afraid for their lives than they hate elven ear shapes at the moment.

After a few long minutes spent studying the statue, it becomes clear they will not find what they seek. There is no visible trigger that is part of the statue itself.

OK, so this advances a bit faster.

Once I finished visually inspecting the statue, I will take one of the torches besides it and carefully check the walls around it looking for a lever in the adjacent walls. i will take my time. If that fails to produce a result, then I will gesture the orcs so they help me in pulling / pushing the statue to open the door. And to hell with this! :D

Gareth pulls one of the torches from its sockets. It shouldn't have triggered any mechanism, but against all expectations, it does. And not the good kind either.

There is an explosion, the feeling of falling and ... nothing. Gareth feels nothing for a moment. He stays there in the dark, half-expecting to be dead, this time. Then there is a sense of vertigo, an acceleration, thousands of images that flood Gareth's mind in an instant, and a blood spatter.

The adventure goes on there for Gareth.
