Rolled d6 to see who was luckiest on the day between Thurl and Rahab as they had the joint highest luck. Then I rolled to hit and damage, hit everyone except glum, and did enough damage to kill everyone (I rolled 1 dam for Watt which ironically was enough to do for him after being burned by the crystal). Then I rolled Reflex saves to see if anyone could dodge out the way. Rock wasn't as nimble as Watt and Rahab.

Not sure if allowing the dodge is by the book (not that I care) but as I thought there was no initiative the characters should have some chance to react.

My personal table rule is that etiquette dictates that the characters of the player of the dead character get first dibs on looting the corpse.

For the record, Bahib and Blandon are heading into the portal, with Bahib slowly ushering Ghalidir and Mert in front of him. In fact, he can start ushering the cannon fodder PCs (from the player that dropped out) in as well, hanging in the middle of the pack.

Seville will be in right behind Mert.

That's pretty kind of you actually. :-) That trap is brutal. I think I waited for the second wave of turkeys to waltz in before I nailed 'em in my game, though.

As far as gear lootin', Rahab's said her piece on that.

Yup, any of you can puppet any of them whenever you want to.

I did think of launching all four at the first person to step in the doorway just for the fun of overkill.

So they'll have to wait till Rahab's dead before looting Rock's body then.

4 spears (1d8 dam)
4 suits of scale mail armour (+4 AC -4 Check pen, -5' speed, d12 fumble)

Pushing for cannon fodder Rorak to open the door as a trap detector for us, though my own guy, Mert, will follow him through. Bahib isn't really going to hang that close, although he is eyeballing Rorak's Thieve's Tools...

QuoteRahab, Arik, Thurl, and Dominic put on the scale armor... however long that takes. They also arm themselves with the spears.

Thurl's an elf and can't wear the scale, also Blessed has already picked up one of the spears. Also in pbp, with peeps posting at different times, I'm not sure it's entirely cool to claim all the loot for your characters.

I think that the fair thing in this case is to equip one of the four "NPC" characters with a suit of armor and a spear, then give each of the three players a suit and a spear to dole out to his characters as he sees fit.

For my part, Blessed will use a spear and wear a suit of the armor, if the others agree. I would prefer to cooperate/discuss when it comes to loot.

Regards,

Phil

In my defense, somebody else posted in between so I figured it was fair game since nobody had spoken up! :-)

If somebody wants some, they're welcome to share?

As for the ruling that Thurl can't wear scale b/c elf, are you sure about that? Unless the scale mail is iron... ?

Weru - Silly question about the statue in the new room:

"A grimoire hangs beside a broadsword on the hip of the thirty-foot-tall monument."

Is the grimoire and the broadsword our size or 30 ft tall statue size?

Also, any light sources in the room, or just our candles?

Regards,

Phil

Sounds like a good idea.

Twas a noble attempt.

No, you're right they enameled scale. But the spears aren't Bronze.

Yeah, it's a funny description, I'm going to stop typing them from the book. It's actually a large statue of a barbarian king who has a grimoire and a sword (both of which are part of the statue and not loot).

No light source other than what you have.

RIP Arik... but hey Dominic ran back out that door first, a few moments before. Did the fire shoot at him too? If so, Arik probably wouldn't have went back to the prior room...

Shit, I totally missed that. I clocked the post and saw where your other characters  went, but totally missed that Dom ran out of the room. My bad.

Well then it's your call. Either the statue has a cruel sense of humour and let Dom leg it and fried Arik, or Dom got fried and Arik is still with us (I mean I could reroll for Dom, but this statue has a dam good aim).

I'd prefer to have Arik alive over Dom... :-)
