Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Drohem

Thraim was still out in the hallway covering the cat-man door with his crossbow, and had his back towards the rest of the group and Jeanette's door.

By Moradin's beard! Thraim mentally sighs to himself as he hears Semina and Kagan shouting.

He quickly turns to face his companions and look inside the room.

Snorri follows Thraim into the room, and after surveying the scene moves to intercept Janet.

OOC: Back for now finally, but will have to leave again on short notice to retrieve my car from Alabama where it broke down on the trip down once it's repaired again.

Sorry about the delay!

Jeanette rolls her saving throw:

   1d20 → 11

Ogres normally aren't affected by Hold Person, but due to the unstable nature of Castle Amber and the surrounding 'pocket dimension' it resides on, magical spells and like effects are very unpredictable.

While casting the spell, Kagan feels an unfamiliar surge of energy passing through him.  While the ogress does not become rigidly still, there is a noticeable decrease in her ability to move; this makes her eyes blaze all the more furiously.

Thraim drops his crossbow and draws his longsword as he rushes into the room past Kagan.  Thraim swings at her using the flat of his blade in an attempt to bludgeon the enraged Jeanette into submission.

==========================================================

OOC:  Thraim is going to attack for subdual damage, as he doesn't really want to kill her.

Thraim hit AC 8 for 17 subdual damage (assuming she's a large creature).

StormBringer

Swinging his blade in an attempt to knock Jeanette out, Thraim misjudges her reaction and the position of her impromptu weapon.  His sword glances harmlessly off the club, but the ogress' momentum will likely carry her past before she can counter-attack.

OOC: Unfortunately I have to leave again out of town for several days :( SB if you could run Snorri again I'd appreciate it.

Roger that, hope things work out for you this time around, and let us know when you get back in town!

Semina was hopeful that Thraims attempt to bring Jeanette into submission would work, but it seems as though his attack only moved the ogress closer to her position.

Without a blink of an eye Semina ran to the bed, jump upon it for height and with all her might pushed off to kick Jeanette in the chest.

OOC: Roll for kick attack. (1d20=1)
Damn it!  Invisible castle hates me!

390. My character\'s background must be more indepth than a montage of Queen lyrics.

702. The Banana of Disarming is not a real magic item.

1059. Even if the villain is Lawful Evil, slapping a cease and desist order on him isn't going to work

StormBringer

I swear I responded to this last week.  Sorry, folks!

Pushing off the bed frame to land a solid kick to the ogress, Semina's foot gets snagged in the bedclothes and throws her attack significantly off.  As a result, she cleanly misses Jeanette and lands a few feet behind her.

Seizing the opportunity, Jeanette swings the makeshift club in a wide arc behind her

   1d20(+3) → 15(+3) = 18

and lands a solid hit.  The ogress' raw strength adds to the momentum of the huge club,

   1d6(+6) → 3(+6) = 9

striking Semina's left shoulder with a sickening thud.

Back to the top of the roster, round 2!

Snatching opportunity from happenstance, Thraim side steps into a wide and powerful swing at the ribs of enraged ogress with the flat of his blade.

==============================================

OOC:  Thraim is still swinging for subdual damage on her.

Thraim's attack hit AC -9 (natural 20!) for 18 damage!
