This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[Off-Site] [Recruiting] Fireforge
« on: February 26, 2010, 06:05:14 PM »
Campaign Name: Fireforge
Genre: Fantasy
Game System: Pathfinder (Players don't need to know the system but must be available and willing to communicate regularly with GM during the character creation process.)
Setting: Dryg-Gwra (custom/homebrew world setting)
Time: 35 Years after The Racewar began.
Cast: I am looking for 6 characters, but will flex up depending on the number and quality of submissions
Deadline: Casting call is open through Sunday, March 13th up to midnight.
Character Submissions: Prospective players must submit a character concept and writing sample

GM Information and Expectations:
You can be assured that this game is being run by a very dedicated GM. Players will not have to worry about lengthy delays between move updates due to GM inactivity. All game mechanics are handled behind the scenes which frees up the players to focus on their characters and the gameworld. Players must be able to post regularly, two times a week barring RL issues.  (Hey we all have them).

The game will be using the http://rpg-fusion.com website and each move will be a collaborative writing effort. It flows so much smoother than pbEm. The game will have it's own picture gallery for use by the players and the GM. The game also have it's own chatroom available at the site.

Races Available:
Human: Northreach, Nordren, Derugarian, Sundaryan
Bragdwrgans (dwarves) are now playable as the gates to Brek-Tek-Vwrga are open again
Half-Choshu (half-elf)
Choshu (elf): Bri, Ra, and Pe castes are available
Outcast: any race mixed with Dolfanc (goblin races: goblin, hob-goblin, orc, kobold, bugbear) blood. This will be carefully considered and scrutinized in the submission process but not guaranteed so get with me if you are thinking of trying something with this race.

Classes:
Warrior
Ranger
Cleric (world specific)
Druid
Rogue
Bard
Pathmage: All three Circles, (Custom Sorcerer Class) but they are more scattered and don't have the resources they used to.
Paladin: This is the time when the first Warrior of Light helped turn back the Dolfanc and end the Racewar. This is the ground floor period of the founding of the Order.

Social-Political Climate:
The war that ravaged the West is over, but things are still a mess. General Daricus the Blessed, First Warrior of the Light, led the armies that finally defeated the minions of Traugur at the Battle of Atrum on the Queoc Plain in the lands of the Choshu Nation. Pockets of Dolfanc now live/roam in many parts of the West, although they are no longer a cohesive army. Most of the West lies in tatters and there are many areas of lawlessness as people begin the slow process of rebuilding and returning to some sense of normalcy. The Triad of Circles were nearly decimated, and the Pathmagi are scattered and few. The Dragonlords of Northreach have retreated to their island and peace has come to Northreach at last. While the Races are no longer at war, there is still a lot of mistrust depending on where one lives. People of Nordren are VERY mistrustful of anything with Choshu blood and all magic not cast by one of the Faithful. Sundarya, nearly torn apart by it's own civil war, was able to survive the treachery; and the Empress Shal-Ahzharrah has begun the slow process of returning the Empire to it's former state of glory. Many do not believe the Bragdwrgan tales of why they were not involved in the war, but this is a by person thing, not a by nation. Janus of Beldrem, the Archdruid of the West, has finally returned to the solace of his sacred grove on Derugar which is now a clearly divided island nation of baronies. The West is a land in tatters that teetered on the very edge of annihilation were it not for the sacrifice and bravery of the Stormheralds. It is a new day, however. Verengaard has risen, as he has done every morning, to a land and peoples torn asunder by 35 years of war. Mathern has bathed the lands with her healing light. These are dark days, that is for sure, but the darkest days are behind. It is time to begin the process of building anew. Of searching for that which had been all but lost. Hope. Only the bravest, most cunning, or strongest begin to leave the safety of their small corner of Dryg-Gwra. Do you have what it takes become one of them? Are you ready to become part of Fireforge?

Please send all submissions of your character concept as well a writing sample to paragon@rpg-fusion.com.
