This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I have started a play by post Lords of Creation (1983, Tom Moldvay) game over at Rpol.  I'm looking for 3-6 players.  Here is a short description of the game:

The year is 1985.  The world is gripped with the threat of nuclear annihilation.  While the cold war captures headlines smaller hot wars and black operations continue behind the scenes.  You are veterans of these actions: mercenaries, ex-government agents, scapegoat engineers, and ostracized scientists.  You have been cast out by your employers and now find yourselves set apart from the rest of society with no real way to make a living.  Then you received a very simple offer passed along by your various contacts.

“I am seeking a capable group to retrieve a stolen item from some disagreeable individuals.  Special skills are required and the timid should not apply.  I will pay $10,000 each plus expenses upon successful retrieval of the item.”

The promise of a paycheck, something you have not seen in quite some time, is too much to pass up.  You arrive one by one at a small bar in downtown Columbus and wait for your contact to make himself known.

This game will use the 1983 Lords of Creation (Avalon Hill) rules by Tom Moldvay.  Knowledge of the game system would be useful but not necessary.  I will provide a “players handbook” if you do not have access to the rules.  Lords of Creation is a multi-genre game of science fantasy, fantasy, science fiction, horror, and adventure.  Game adventures take place throughout time, space, and other dimensions.  Characters start as normal people (as normal as guns for hire can be anyway) who suddenly realize that they are able to see extraordinary creatures and events and gradually gain superhuman, magical, and psychic powers.  Think of the movie Ronin with ghosts, zombies, mutants, monsters, time travel, and dimensional portals.  If you've ever wanted to fight the mythical beasts of ancient Greece with an assault rifle and telekinetic powers then this is the game for you!

This will be a sandbox style game, although there will be a starting adventure to get things going.  After that there will be a variety of missions and mysteries for the party to investigate.  Your first adventure will be in a modern setting but it will shift to ancient, futuristic, post-holocaust, and fantasy settings from there.  In fact you may not even know your crossing between worlds until it’s too late.  I’m looking for 3-5 players with a good range of skills and character types.  All characters will start at first level.  Players of all gaming experience are welcome.  If you are interested in joining see the Request To Join (RTJ) thread in the game page.

Three players have joined and the game will be starting this week.  There is still room for two more characters.

Looking for a CIA/MI-6/KGB and a Thief/Criminal type to round out the group.
