This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Qin - The Warring States

Feudal China at its best!

Take part in a campaign set in the Seven Warring States period.  The Zhou dynasty has collapsed and the country is now split between the seven major powers, each now a separate kingdom - all vying for ultimate power and control of the other six, each firmly believing they are the right people to lead the empire.  The time period spans 475BC to 221BC, this game takes place close to 240BC.

In the vein of "Journey to the West",  the party is led by a young Taoist on a divine quest to find balance for the land and its people, aided by an assortment of characters,  this is their story of travel and adventure through the fractured lands that swallow whole villages for nothing less than spite.

A land where mythological Chinese creatures exist, their own agenda causing them to sometimes harm, sometimes aid or just withdraw from contact with man, satisfied in being prayed to or feared - or both.  A history where the Kingdom of Heaven imposes its will in a very literal sense.  This is a place where legends are born and prophecies fulfilled.

I am interested...I shall peruse the links you gave!
Are you planning to host it here?
:D
Form the group wisely, make sure you share goals and means.
Set norms of table etiquette early on.
Encourage attentive participation and speed of play so the game will stay vibrant!
Allow that the group, milieu and system will from an organic symbiosis.
Most importantly, have fun exploring the possibilities!

Running: AD&D 2nd. ed.

I will add, that you don't need the core rules in order to take part.  There are demo rules available free from Drivethru, but they don't really give but the smallest amount of detail.  I'll step people through character generation as needed. You'd probably get more background info just googling "the seven warring states".

I will be running it on my own forum as there are a few people interested from a variety of places.  Don't worry, it's add free :-)

Update : only require one more player, two at the most which will bring the party to between four and five PCs.

Hi,

I am interested in this game, though I don't know the rules.
I would appreciate some help in creating the character,
but I love the setting.

Youp.

I'd be interested as well, although I've never played a PBP game before. But I love the genre!

EDIT: I just realize that you've probably started playing already, as the posts are more than a month old. Might I have a peek at where you're hosting it?
