This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Mission : A23D

Objective:
The mission objective is to infiltrate the Northern Alliance T'Gat Airbase on the north-western shores of Lake Orbin and eliminate the squadron of G12 attack aircraft located at the base to break the air superiority the Northern Alliance have across the Lake Orbin district.
An extended objective is to render the entire base inoperable.
It is our believe that infiltration by a small sabotage squad stands the best chance of success but as per the terms and conditions of the contract (paragraph 5 subsections 12 through 17) the nature and form of execution are in the domain of the contractor.

Logistics

The Airbase
The T'Gat airbase was constructed early in the war in the depths of the Hodah swamps that fringe the northern half of Lake Orbin along the delta of the Hodah river. Initially established as a forward exploratory encampment the base was expanded and strengthened over the next few years to become a major strategic control point.
The base covers 3.6 square kilometers is protected by a 10 meter high plascrete wall with a single point of entry to the Eastern side. The wall included an enclosed parapet and 8 gun emplacements carrying twin mounted R12 Auto-canons on universal cupola. The weapons can be controlled manually or from a centralized computer system, see details below.
A service road extends to the east through the marsh out toward the Geiss plains. It has five subordinate checkpoints at 10km intervals.
The base has a 1km runway although the G12s are VTAL capable. There is a large apron and a set of hangers that can accommodate up to 20 aircraft. 15 are thought to be deployed at the moment.
T'Gat is home to 100 Northern Alliance troopers of the Kask Legion as well as a detachment of 30 GCs. (Genetic Commandos – see details below). In addition to this protective force there are also 50 aircrew and an additional 60 ground technicians. These personnel are billeted in 3 barracks surrounding the runway, see map.
It is thought that the Base may have extensive underground features although intelligence has been unable to determine the details.

Defenses

The plascrete wall is 3 meters thick and 10 meters high. Previous attacks have show that it can withstand concentrated auto-canon fire. The eastern gate is defended by plas-steel doors and an active autodefence system utilizing genetic cyborg technology.
The 25 meter tall ATC tower is defended by another genetic-cyborg active defense system. Access to the building is restricted to command staff only.
The genetic-cyborg active defense systems deployed across the site need some additional explanation. The Northern Alliance has been working on gene technology for a while and the GC program is a testament to their success in this area. They have recently managed to combine this wetware with cyborg technology imported from off world. The resultant hybrids, which take genetic material from certain animals and combine it with advanced robotics, have been unsuccessful in the field lacking the flexibility of their GCs and the raw power of our own mecha. However, they have been successfully deployed in certain niche areas and our troops have encountered the Hybrid Organic Unified Non-organic Defense system previously and found in close quarters it can be particularly devastating. We suspect these systems to be entirely autonomous.

Military Staff

The Primary defensive duties on site are covered by a Century of the Kask Legion. A well trained veteran force the Legion have been actively engaged in the Orbin theatre since the start of the War.
They are a mobile, light armored force who fill a generic role in the NA military structure.
The GC are the elite combat troops of the Alliance. Genetically engineered they are highly trained experts at infiltration and black ops. The Unit at T'Gat uses the base as a staging point for incursions into Union territory. The GCs have enhanced endurance and senses. They are also immune to the bio-agent soup that permeates a lot of the swamps round the base.
The air crews are unlikely to prove much of a military threat. We understand their standing orders are to try to evacuate the G12s should it look like they are risk. It is of primary importance that this not be allowed to occur. The elimination of those aircraft is the primary goal of this mission and should any of those aircraft escape the mission will be considered a failure (as per contracted terms and conditions paragraph 8 subsections 3 through 5).

IT Systems

As noted the base has a closed circuit IT system that manages its defense and ATC functions. All attempts to hack into this system have proven futile. It is believed that the system is only accessible from the ATC tower and the central Data Core the precise location of which we have been unable to determine.
A second system that provides administrative and logistic support to the military staff is connected to the larger Northern Alliance grid through a system of firewalls. There is no connectivity into the ATC system that we have been able to ascertain.

Surrounding Locale

The Hodah swamps that surround the base are extensive extending for 80 km to the north and west, 20 km to the lakeside to the south and 50 km to the east. The entire swamp area was a focus of intense fighting. Airdrops have proved unsuccessful due to the G12 squadron. We have tried to infiltrate several times but our own Mecha are unable to navigate the swamp's terrain. It has also been noted that the swamp is saturated in Northern active bio agents. These agents are toxic and have sever neurological effects. It is also noted that he local fauna have been 'treated' by Alliance geneticists and achieved unnaturally large size and ferocity.
