This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm looking for interested players to join me in a ACKS game.  It'll be a sandbox game set in a science-fantasy world influenced by Stephen Hunts Jackelian series of novels, and He-Man, Thundarr and various other sources.

The world will be built with input from players.

Thanks for the welcome The Butcher!

Posting rate is flexible.  I can post at least once a day during the week but weekends I'm not so sure about.

I want to try ACKS because I've had the rules for a while but never got around to reading them until recently.  I also like the proficiency skills they use as well.

Any idea on what kind of setting you'd like to adventure in?

I can squeeze in a post every other day, a post a day tops.

Good surprise or bad surprise?

For good I'm thinking some kind of homage to 80's Action Cartoons like He Man, Thunder Cats, Voltron, Rescue Rangers etc.  Mixed up in a weird sci-fantasy blender and served with a side of 80's nostalgia.

For bad I'm thinking I come over to your house and duck tape you to a chair and make you watch as I rub balloons over my body and use the static electricity generated to power my handcrafted shadow puppet show about handcrafted puppet shows entitled "My Shadow And Me"

I just found the Cartoon Action Hour rpg and I'm going to be using pic related as inspiration for the setting.

Here is my current brainstorm for the setting, feel free to tell me if something isn't working.

"The savage world of Remania lies under threat from the forces of the Skarian Empire, who launch constant attacks from their base on the moon!  Led by Emperor Skarian and his inner circle of Dark Lords, the Moon Legions constantly search for the magistones that power their dark Empire!  Heroes from across the world take up arms to fight off the Moon Empire while also trying to gain enough power to defeat the multitude of other threats that call the world of Remania home.  From the Creeping Hordes of the Living Jungle, to the deadly fury of the Whispering Wasteland, and the voracious appetites of the Burrower, Remania is a place where danger lurks around every corner and the bold, swift and lucky can forge their name into Legend!"
