This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Since I talk about it too much, and saw a few people who wished to have played it at least once, I will run a game of In Nomine, the steve jackson games version.

As a sandbox there will be events that happen about that you don't have to get involved in, though being proactive makes everyone's lives easier.

As IN favors missions as well, I will include moments where you will receive orders from superiors/Superiors. These are not so optional. However, depending on how time sensitive there is user discretion about completion.

As celestial characters do not always play well together, PCs must be OKed by GM beforehand. Further party cohesion is not assumed, and outside of very specific missions may actually be impossible depending upon PC composition. Ideally one side, and one political posture, helps makes things easier to manage, and I find is best for new players. There will also be masking of PC character sheets, as the Cold War aspect is very much in place, so PMs will ensue rapidly after player slots are filled.

Humans are encouraged. However we will be using the human (which includes undead) errata for calculating Body HP = (Corporeal forces + Toughness)*STR. I further compensate humans with additional life skills for being born and raised in the corporeal realm. For this sandbox they will be related to life in modern San Francisco Bay Area -- though you will be living near the northern East Bay refinery area. And remember, one of the biggest advantages to humans is their tie to the Symphony, so humans don't make disturbance!

Player Slots: Ideally 2-3. Can accept 4.

Setting: northern East Bay area of SF Bay Area. Modern era, roughly around 2009. Cold War discretion, suburban/urban landscape, in a current lull.

Play Style: Sandbox with Missions. Party cohesion not assumed. Rather high social embed. Solo ventures encouraged. PMs might be necessary, but assuming players can respect IC/OOC divide and have no hard feelings. CP (the XP) is very minimal, and more soft rewards are used.

Char Gen Parameters: Prefer Heaven, as Hell can get very PvP and bleak fast, yet willing to listen to ideas. PCs stick to basic chargen, so no extra Discord for CP, no attunements outside of Superior, no starting distinctions obviously, no songs or skills above 3, artifacts and relics need special approval, servants need overview, and at least one extra vessel (even if just an animal) is recommended. Random chargen available upon request.

Pitch: Some tethers are stressed noting questionable new vandalism events. Local celestials are investigating, and expecting some new help arriving.

Premise: As players, a local celestial or two is working with a newcomer or two. May have human servants who are in on the war.

Mood: Highish Contrast (good is good!, evil is evil...), Relatively Bright (not crapsack world, but there is some horror and darkness), Moderate Humor (relatively serious, yet likes a good laugh).

That should be it. If you know anything about working class life you'll be fine, as you'll be around Richmond, Martinez, Concord area. Some Oakland and Berkeley tropes are fine too, as they are nearby. Any questions can start here before it is necessary to move to PMs.
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.
