Helios stands stunned...who are these INSANE people??? What have I gotten myself into NOW???

Time for some defensive magic.

Helios takes a deep breath, recites the ancient mantras to call upon a Conjuration. [at 1st level, he can create 1 cubic foot of inanimate object(s)] Helios concentrates and envisions a stacks of a 1000 very shiny (though inherently worthless) coins appearing high above the bar area. The rain of metal bits and exploding glass should provide the distraction he needs to escape.

(OOC: Ghandus, the Aberrant Forest and Topaz Mts. jungles are 100s of miles away from Akmir. Akmir is centered between The Barrens salt flats and the Desertlands sandy desert. :) I will assume you just grab her and are running outside, likely to your saltflat catamaran racer. ... you have doubts whether the Zaran chattel warriors will understand your intentions. :D The chattel angency will look angrily at your intentions. The Akmiri guards in and around this Akbir Depot shall miss the Seven Kingdoms and wonder what they did to deserve this backwater bullshit post. :D

OOC: Tadius, let us know what you want to do upon recovering from Ghandus' "fake-fight" gambit.

OOC: Everyone, in the ensuing chaos we will likely be introducing another PC hero/victim to your party! :p Keep an eye out!

Now plotting devious things... NPCs wanna get some too. :D)

Seeing the fight unfold the witch pretty much kept out of it for a number of reasons.  One being that she isn't adding any more scars to her pretty face.  The second is that it allowed her to get a good view of everything.  She witness the thrall take slave concubine out of the place and Helios casting a spell.  A fellow sorcerer would be nice to tag along and so she walk up to him and tapped his shoulder.

What that mage should see is one of the most beautiful women in his life who is dressed in wolf furs.  Right down to the boots.  Olive skin, jet black hair much like a raven, and a scar to show she had been in a fight.

"Hey magic man.  Do you want to bounce out of here?"

OOC: Yes, Opa, Ghandus will carry the Zaran slave girl to the Sand Ship. Setting her down firmly, Ghandus looks her over, making sure she is doing ok. Gazing about for the Danuian, Tadius, and others.

Ghandus roars, "Tadius! Friends! TO ME!"
Ghandus offers the Zaran woman a drink from his shark-head waterskin. "Here. Have something to drink. What is your name, woman? I am Ghandus."

Staying close to her, Ghandus evaluates any nearby dangers. If close combat seems likely, Ghandus keeps his greatword ready. Otherwise, Ghandus pulls out his horn bow, and opens his quiver. Ghandus watches also for any straggling companions, possibly being followed by guards or other enemies.

(OOC: Normally I'd like to do declarations & rounds so I can not be tempted into metagaming fore-knowledge of my PCs' shenanigans and to keep everyone sychopated. :D But PlayByPost (hereon: PbP) is a challenging game medium and I just LOVE enthusiasm! It keeps the spirit flowing.

From here on out I want everyone to try to give time for everyone to reply within... 72 hr (3 day) arc per round (need to look up Talislanta's round lengths... crosses finger, hoping it is minute rounds), and if we miss you we will try to keep you doing something roughly sensible and in the spirit of the context. (Life comes first, so no one feel the need to apologize if and when you delay too long we autopilot you.)

Further, in the spirit of flexibility and rejoicing in enthusiasm, I do welcome Pre-Programmed Orders (I call 'em Macros, like linked sequential hotkeys) so I have a better sense on how to autopilot you! Naturally interruptions can throw everything to shit and reset context, so if you can smaller Macros (number of orders) please.

Hope you all are having fun in the foyer, as you started off the campaign with a bang! :D A bit brain fried, give me a moment to cook up a pleasing chaotic scene.)

OOC: Sorry about the tardiness.  Life happens.

Tadius yells to Ghandus, "Right behind you!" as he tips a brazier over and onto the side of the slavers' tent.  Pulling his second dagger and bringing to mind a minor jinx hex just in case the slavers take umbrage with the group, Tadius hurries to catch up to Ghandus.  That turns out more difficult than Tadius would like even though Ghandus is carrying the slave woman.  Tadius really needs more exercise it would seem.

3rd day, 2 week, 4th month
Prime Sun Noon, exact, (Second Sun Horizonal)

Akmir

Akbir Depot (The Barrens Arrival/Departure Hangar)

Surprise Round Finished. Round 1, Fight!

(OOC: Excellent! Now I get to practice Talislanta RAW combat resolution -- cross your fingers we don't explode. :p First I compare opposing combatants' Combat Rating (this gives me +/- to Combat Skill rolls) & magic checks its Ratings (spell & target dependent, e.g. Jinx), next compare Speed Ratings for initiative, then we all roll our d20s and check the action table, and finally I am the one to "make sense of it." I will be using large groups to represent the chaos of the scene, which in Talislanta is to take the best as representative for the group.)

Next closest to this surprising spill of violence, Arimite Knife-fighters look (for once in their miserable goddamn lives) almost happy while Jhangaran exiles look resigned as they ready themselves to square up against the Za fighters. (CR +1 v. Za, SR will go first vs. Za fighters.)

Freed from chattel service the Za fighters mowed through surprised Maruk & Djaffiri traders in their pursuit for more weapons than their leg chains. Armed with fresh staves & black iron swords for their arsenal, they seem keen where the Zaran concubine-to-be is, and are heard talking about "... keep her safe!" (CR 0, SR 0)

Akmiri guards, a motley crew themselves along the hangar's entrances, seem to be taking it easy before engaging. ...? How frequent are scenes like this here?

There is screaming & panicked running from the once-loitering passengers, added in half-octave higher chorus by luggage dancers clutching each other and crumpling (why aren't they fleeing?). The hangar's ambient demon-jukebox flips on to a song about one's love of nightlife as the luggage carousel-track flips on ambiance theatrical lighting in this pandemonium. The bar has also cleared as bartender shuttered the top shelf reflexively and is working on the rest... and the Chattel Agency booth is quite slathered in slaughtered surprised salesmen. A Za fighter is hacking at certain unmanageable war chattels' chains, while another Za fighter is taking advantage of other bound war chattel and slaughtering them. (CR -1, SR -1; except Za.)

(Roll attacks, magic, & skills if you attempted one this round. Ghandus, there will be a few Za chasing you -- but the RAW is rather static -- so you may choose to roll a Speed check to see if you add +1 to your fleeing, buying you some time upon the boat to prepare... something exciting to roll for!)

OK, let's resolve Round 1! Roll 'em! :D

OOC: Sorry for taking so long to post

Amara decides to run out of the bar and make sure she can join up with Ghandus at the sand ship, her sword drawn the entire time and providing any reinforcements he may need against the slavers.

The Danuvian warrior calls out to Ghandus "YO! I got your back on this too. If they get in too close for your bow, I will lend an extra blade!"

Helios barely finishes chanting his Summoning spell (rolls 15 total) when he feels someone reach up to tap his shoulder. He turns and looks down at the witch with a bemused smile. "A Dhuna? Here in Akmir? Perhaps my summoning talents are greater than I imagine? Yes my most beautiful witch, I shall indeed bounce with you, but first lets quickly exit this depot. The entire bar is about to explode."

Sensing his spell was a success, Helios rushes toward the exit. Hopefully, the Dhuna is hot on his heels, or perhaps even hot for his heels. Either way, Helios is leaving the building and runs toward the roaring Thrall!

While Helios is rushing for the exit Astlumia decided to take full advantage of the situation.  She looks at the beautiful woman cargo dancer that really doesn't need make up to look so good.  The witch then casts her spell.

INFLUENCE: BEGUILE

"Hey why don't I take this luggage and follow this sexy woman in furs to safety," should ring in the dancer's mind.

With that done Astlumia heads off for the exit which her graymane steed is outside.

Akmir

Akbir Depot (The Barrens Arrival/Departure Hangar)

Round 1 Resolution

The Arimite Knife-fighters are no pushovers, and a piercing "Oh shiiii--!" is ripped from a Za Fighter's lips as they fall back from a table they clambored upon. A Jhandaran is released of his fate from a dogpile of Zas with knives and another Arimite is finding chains grab throwing hands too.

But it is not just a tiny swarm of Za chattel who were released. Tadius' spilled brazier releases its hooka tabac coals upon bar carpet and hangar hexagonal tile alike, catching unguarded cloth alight, scuh as fleeing passengers' robes. Meanwhile with the dancing spotlight, upbeat music, and spreading tiny fires, there is a rain of sparkling lumen from the ceiling! A truly glorious sight as money enough to buy freedom falls between horrible screams, fires, & fighting.

More staffing chattel is being released or slaughtered. New passenger arrivals are deciding to hurry back out until things calm down, but are coming up against others fresh from gates further down the hangar. A press of humanities is struggling to either join the action, help themselves to riches, or get away. Several large released chattel has been released into this fray: Ur tribals, Saurads, and one Kharakhan Giant.

At this the Akmiri guards know things will get out of hands soon. Whatever is left of the Chattel Agency's Guardstaff, along with any Bar or Duty-Free Shop bouncer is being deputized on the spot. Formations will begin soon, and greater unpleasantness likely after that.

A group of 4 Za rapidly keep chase with Ghandus, with another squad of 9 following after hearing their "Thigriz" (female ???) is being taken in said direction. Amara is unenviably between these groups runnng in the same direction, but as of yet they cannot place the association to Ghandus. Other Za are busy freeing more like them (no wonder there was a special discount!), killing other hated chattel, or busy fighting. Linger long and you might have a larger mob heading for the catamaran...

Helios and Atlumia seem to have found a worthwhile distraction in each other and this general caravan business... oh, and apparently picked up a luggage dancer as a groupie, of course. ;) Still not out of the hangar yet, but there are so many unprecedented excitements around to dawdle upon, what with the fire, melee, flashing lights, raining coin, lovely song, and panicked or greed-frenzied travellers about. Ooh, there goes another luggage dancer chasing after its fleeing owner, "Take me with you! How can you leave me behind! You need me!"

Round 2

Hope you are enjoying yourselves. ;) Tell me what you are doing?

Ghandus takes aim at the four nearest enemies, and opens fire on them. Arrow after arrow, seeking them out!
