Once outside Astlumia hails her horse and the graymane steed comes charging.  Once it is haulted Astlumia puts that golden dancer and luggage on that great horse before riding it to fetch that panicing wizard.  When she reaches him she says;

"Name is Astlumia and you need to get on this horse."

3rd day, 2 week, 4th month
Prime Sun Noon, exact, (Second Sun Horizonal)

Akmir

Akbir Depot, Immediately Outside (The Barrens Arrival/Departure Hangar)

Round 2 Resolution

The Akbir Hangar scene looms almost in place as its chaos inside crescendos while the party tries to fade it away with distance. Fleeing passengers are snatching up caravans and rentable mounts in a frantic throw of money, muscle, and status. Oncoming is another platoon of guards, similarly sluggish due to heat (and possibly familiarity to such madness), and there is an alarm sounding which is causing other hangars around Akmir to slip into a defensive posture.

Ghandus unleashes an arrow tagging one of the first wave of chasing Za with a brilliant shot to the thigh! Taking a moment with his excellent reflexes he turns to see the Za concubine-to-be still unconscious. Looking back for the next minute he sees the first wave pushing themselves full tilt, reaching the catamaran and scrambling up -- next round will likely be melee!

Beyond that first wave Amara is visible running on up to the catamaran being followed by a wave of nine (9!) more furious Za. Amara turns while running and slashes at the closest Za, scoring a mighty blow! The fighter stumbles and falls back catching his breath and realizing this is a serious fight -- a Thrall AND a Danuvian!

There seems to have been more left behind in the Akbir Hangar as the second wave yells and gestures back to the hangar as if expecting more support! In the push to close ground, this second wave has two pull ahead at pace with Amara, one utterly fall back out of breath and now pulling towards the Za stumbled by Amara now signalling behind them, 2 rest keeping pace and 3 falling into a jog.

Helios avails himself of Atlumia's invitation and hops upon her horse. Visually assessing the Thrall & Danuvian's vehicle there is actually catamaran room enough for a pony. ;) Soon it looks to be filled with Za at this rate.

The Akbir Hangar guards along its perimeter seem more interested with the madness inside than this current chase outside, passing occasional glances and turning back to their squad leaders for orders.

Amid all this, Tadius seems to be making his way dodging out of the hangar and scampering towards the salt flat catamaran... {OOC: Barring break in autopilot will sneak upon the catamaran and hide in its hull.}

Round 3
Tell me what you're doing. :p

Helios is Thaecian man of great wisdom. He knows if he's ever to have the chance to mount Astlumia, he'd better get his ass on that horse right now!

Ghandus gauges the right moment to sheath his Horn Bow, and draws his glittering Greatsword. Roaring, Ghandus stands next to Amara, blocking the gangway leading up to the sand ship. Crouching warily, Ghandus brings his massive sword up en garde, ready to strike any opponent within range!

"I got your back on this one!" replies Amara as she stands beside Ghandus and has her sword drawn to fight anyone who comes within range and defend the gangway to the ship.

The witch rides her graymane steed over some hostile Za as she makes to the catamaran.  She yells out to Thrall.  "Hey do you need any aid?"

In truth Astlumia has one more spell in her memory that might be useful, but she has to be closer to the catamaran for it to work properly.

Akmir

Akbir Depot, Immediately Outside (The Barrens Arrival/Departure Hangar)

Round 3 Resolution

The Akbir Hangar is now a shimmering bonfire throbbing to a frenetic beat. Meanwhile the threat of order encroaches as guard platoons ready to smother the thrill. Seems victims who could flee have done so, the rest within must be willing participants slaking their own thirsts.

Helios successfully hops atop the striding filly, seems to be a graymane, and spots the statuesque Danuvian pushing herself full tilt. She threads up the ramp between enemies before the intervening Za reach her thrall ally. At the end of her sprint, breasts heaving, she readies for attack. Together, armed greatsword by longsword, they stand picturesque shoulder-to-shoulder as bulwark upon the ship's ramp, the Second Sun on the horizon counterbalancing the empty sky next to the main sail; it is a heartbeat before bloodshed, worthy a shot of nectar.

Ghandus' greatsword tip rips a swath across the first Za warrior who reaches the top of the ship's ramp, a warning to others. The Za staggers back a step but still eager stands waiting for backup, his gash trickling blood. As the first batch of Za make it to the top of the ramp they freeze in anticipation upon hearing a sultry voice belt, "Why'd you kidnap me? Another doll for your collection?"

Amara and Ghandus, if you turn to look back, you see the Za woman propping herself on her side with one arm as best she can upon the catamaran netting, the other hand up and outstretched in the universal symbol to stop -- it seems less for either of you than for the warriors. The first batch of Za then flag the second batch of Za to slow, and so on to the third wave of Za escaping the flaming Akbir Depot. There is a fourth wave that seems to be fighting other unrelated Za and miscellaneous fighters trying to spill out from the depot towards you.

Through her you appear to have the Za warriors' attention, the entire gross of them. (OOC - roughly 20+ Za immediately connected to this shared scar-symbol & woman, who knows how many more in the 4th wave or inside?)

In this to-do Astlumia soon pushes Helios & herself ever faster towards the sand flat catamaran racer, calling out an offer to help. The Za woman inquires, "Aid? What sort of games are you playing, intruders?"

The melee in Akbir Depot is pushing at its seams, the fourth wave does not look it can hold its banks much longer and the guard platoons are ready to push in.

Astlumia gives the Za woman a suspicious look before answering.  Then she turns to the thrall whom Astlumia was really speaking too.

"You may want my medical skills and if we need a scout I can volunteer as I am proficient with horse riding.  I also brought with me a noble man who is a spell caster and one of the luggage dancers who can help out with basic maintenance of the catamaran.  With her came additional luggage of unknown contents.  All I ask is can we join?"

Helios, a veteran of many courtly battles of wit, words and wine, knows there is time for repartee and time to flee the specter of bloody violence.

"Witch woman of Za! I honor your beauty and your power over your warriors, but while your voice is lovely and this discussion fascinating, now is not the time. Everyone needs to get aboard the catamaran and we need to sail across the sands as fast as possible. Feel free to thank us for freeing you at a later time."

Helios turns to Astlumia as he slips off the greymane, "Thank you for the ride. I hope we can enjoy a different ride at a more private hour."

Helios shakes the dust from his robes and calls out to the Danuvian and Thrall. "Ready the catamaran for launch. I shall cast a divination spell and learn the path our pursuers will use to catch us. With this fore-knowledge, I must hope your navigation skills are equal to your steel so we can flee unimpeded to our next destination."

Helios begins casting the Divination, looking directly into the sun and entering a mystical trance. "Solar spirits, cast mine eyes into the future! Show me the path of our pursuers and how to escape them."

Akmir

Akbir Depot, Immediately Outside (The Barrens Arrival/Departure Hangar)

Round 4 Resolution

The Akbir Hangar's bonfire has now been stirred by the determined andirons of the guard platoons, spraying embers and screaming bodies out of any giving orifice of its hangar-cum-brazier. This is the breach-point, from here there is little left to the niceties of thought. Those innocents still scrambling outside for the last remaining vehicles to get away see what shall spill forth next will trample them to escape. Whimpering joins screaming.

Helios, fast on the uptake, launches into a sensibly convincing appeal for armistice given the circumstances. Dismounting the greymane and embarking upon the salt flat catamaran with a breathtaking confidence past statuesque Danuvian Amara, one notes how quickly her eyes assess the situation. Ghandus' tensing muscles reflect that in moments he read Amara's judgment and concurred wordlessly to let Helios pass and get comfortable. Comfortable apparently is a spell to divine hope away from here.

This gesture of catamaran crew detente is the thawing ice dam to the hangar's pressure building behind them all... and visibly gives the Za woman pause. Before her agape mouth launches a counterproposal, Astlumia proffers her own assets to this impossible melange. And from off starboard yells, "And I can help you pilot!" -- a sight as mad as the state you find yourselves in -- a Gao sea pirate running desperately across the salt flats from the burning, burgeoning, bellowing melee within the massive building.

"Enough! --" as her eyes finally soften seeing Za warriors dying with intruders alike in chaos, " -- the Tirshata knows we must endure if we are to avenge ourselves of these everlasting trespassers." And with that the first and second wave Za fighters relax; the battle suspends. "Tell them that cannot yet reach us to disengage and meet up at the known 'Western Annex' within the 'Pan of Contrition', which speaks of our sins before our fall. Zaran shall survive!"

"Zaran shall survive!" and Za warriors start calling out and gesturing to successive waves behind them the message until it reaches the bastion holding the hangar's outpouring at bay. With a frenzy parts of the third and fourth wave start attacking any vehicles and mounts within reach to ready their scatter off into the salts flats. A handful of the nearest 3rd wave (five Za) rush to help any wounded 1st wave (four Za) and 2nd wave (nine Za) onto the lifesaving ship.

Altogether an unwieldy crush of eighteen (18!) Za warriors are boarding along with their 'Thigriz'. She stands as nodding interface to her crew and the rest of your inexplicable party, like obeying the ship rigging orders of a Gao pirate newcomer, or a Dhuna's request on boarding her greymare near a Thrall's mangonel lizard in the breezy catamaran hull. With haste your gathered impossible flees into the sweltering calm of a formless horizon.

{OOC - I won't have you chased in earnest just yet. ;)  Now tell me your resolutions and introductions. If you need more rumors sprinkled upon you just ask and then share your favorites.}

After securing her horse Astlumia takes the luggage and finds a serviceable room for medical treatment.  She then starts converting into hospital room.  Well as one can reasonably expect.  The witch has her suspicions about the Za woman, but she is willing to patch the Za men.  Using the golden skin dancer as a assistant Astlumia starts patching them up.  Among her things are various healing herbs that can be use to cure diseases and poisons.  Thankfully these men need a patch up and bandages are easy to get.

Seeing her golden scantily clad assistant the witch finally asks a question.  "So what is your name?  I am Astlumia."

Ghandus sets to the work of getting the ship going, watching for any potential dangers. Ghandus then proceeds to check on his Mangonel Lizard, and make sure she gets some snacks to eat, before returning to duties running the ship.

3rd day, 2nd week, 4th month
Prime Sun afternoon, (Second Sun heliopoidal)

BGM https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QLnTRwpmCGs "Witch" -- Helen (some italo disco to set the mood! what do the lyrics mean? who knows!  8))

The Barrens

Astlumia

"Buubi-a-buubia, but for simplicity many a master & mistress have called me Buubi," she says eyes downcast, still in thrall to your majesty. "I hope my pirouetting pleases you, my Lassy Astlumia --" looking shocked at her faux pas she tries to recover, "-- oh I presume! Is it Lady Astlumia, and there is a Lord yet to meet?"

In this space you get to unwind and bond with your new gold lamé wrapped luggage dancer assistant at your prerogative. The luggage seems interesting, faint glittery fingerprints remain near the locked clasps. Brushing up against them leaves a dissipating tingle...? When up close and the surrounds quiet down a muffled ticking sounds from inside.

**

Ghandus

Your mangonel lizard looks fat & happy, enjoying the afternoon breeze in the cargonet hold. Occassional snorts on the breeze speak of it sensing land lizards and possibly other mangonels out there in the sun blasted saltpan. She keeps sniffing North-Westerly as if teased by ripened cantalopes; could be a hint towards an emergency oasis? You do worry about any wild stallions out there however...

**

ALL

At sunset the Za woman asks for everyone's attention. "As Thigriz I cannot in good faith ask intruders to walk towards our Zaran shame, let alone face shared death in the 'Pan of Contrition'. Your kind come into the fallen ruins of our homeland without proper permission ritual and try to continue as if nothing is amiss. But you also offered help in  the face of a grinding death to our clan's honor, and great enemies to yourself.

"So you wish to share our pulverizing fate and make shelter in the forsaken dust and salt of our ancestral folly? Well, any so crazy might be strong enough to understand a Za's Fate to Zaran and be welcomed as guest into 'Our Collapsing House'. If you are so ready, send forth your emissary to brand your request for permission to enter Zaran." Upon a lamp she heats a black iron brass-knucle brand, of a pattern noticeably smaller & different than the brand upon each Za.

/if and when whoever volunteers, she will brand you upon the exposed back or shoulder

"I welcome you to the House of Zaran, participants in bringing the Fall upon Talislanta, cursed for our abetting hubris, and whose generations are tasked to keep innocents and fools from coming here uninvited and rebuilding the Nightmares Age again.

"I am Calla. I am a Thigriz, like a shamen or witch to you. Feel safe to call me Calla. We are the almost-shattered Equus Bladder clan. We owe you a clan debt. The men are given license to speak plainly with their public names to you. Respect to you as you respect our house.

"The brand will give pause to other Za. But we are each tasked differently by the Tirshata, and often fight to 'do the right thing, even unto death!' So while we shall not slaughter you, our guests, sometimes our extended family will atone with your blood even after knowing you have been admitted. Apologies, but the way of righteousness is hard, mysterious, and mostly violent...

"Speaking of which, we ask a favor to meet up with our remaining number deep into the 'Pan of Contrition' at the 'Western Annex'. It is asking you to walk into death. There you can find a slice of our forefathers' sins, and much reassuring black iron besides. But it is a lot to ask immediately... as long as we are travelling within what you call The Barrens we will wait a week or two to get there, as you need to prepare."

"... and, thank you, guests."

**

{OOC: You have time to dawdle on another adventure on the way to the meeting point!}

Quest: Go to the 'Western Annex' in the 'Pan of Contrition', meet up with rest of Equus Bladder Clan. Maybe see the sins of the Zaran forefathers?

Rumor: Apparently a Bandit Gang, 'Screamers to the Purple Sun', is teetering upon collapse somewhere in the Western Barrens. Maybe another boat can be stolen for the flotilla.

Rumor: The Salt Devils are said to have some of the sweetest soul music. The performing imps nod, but shiver at the thought, demons often being food for rampaging devils.

Rumor: City of Muruk has new curse-breakers (idiots) requesting a topaz boulder from the Topaz Mts. Apparently more than a few boulders passed through Akmir onto The Barrens in the past year.

Rumor: Eastern Borderlands hills has a hidden Mongrelmen hamlet ripe for the picking. Some arenas and wizards are offerering double the typical chattel price.
