Helios stands behind the Zandir and Thrall, listening and thinking. Hmm...a magician and a mountain of muscle, could be valuable for maintaining a dozen troublesome battle slaves. I wonder if they own the catamaran?

Waiting for a lull in their conversation, Helios steps up and introduces himself in the Thaecian fashion. "Fondest greetings new acquaintances of the continent. I am Helios, enchanter of wine from the inestimable courts of gorgeous Thaecia. I also see the value in the Zarans. Would it please you to tell me of your catamaran and to where it travels next? Perhaps if our acquaintance continues, I will capitalize the purchase of a dozen charming slaves as my contribution to further travels."

"Or should I say, easily charm-able slaves."

Amara had traveled far and wide to reach the destination, and after making sure her things were secured, the Danuvian warrior entered the barroom. Amara was quiet for the entirety of the trip, unusually so. But that's because the six-and-a-half foot tall Amazon wanted to keep her head down as much as possible before arriving.

Walking into the tavern a little bit later than everyone else, she sits at the bar and orders a drink, eyeing her surroundings to see if she sees anyone or anything of interest

"So, Ghandus, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Tadius asks.  "By the way, I was meaning to ask what brings you into this, uh, rather less than delightful corner of the world?"

Ghandus greets Tadius. "Hello there! Well, Tadius, I am Ghandus. I've heard that mercenaries and such are in demand here, with potential for good profit....and, well, I have this fatalistic streak in me that enjoys danger for some reason!" *Laughing*

She is in the typical curled-toe slippers and full sleeved robe of Hadjan finery, with a twist. Both her shoe and robe fabric are made of a semi-transparent and metallic weave amid the twill, where in different angles the fabric becomes see-through and shimmers as if the flesh is behind a gilded cage. Its effect tends to occur around taut areas as her shapeliness strains against the otherwise formless Hadjan robe.

Her left hip sports a similar scar as the discounted Zaran chattel-warriors. Her bald head is decorated in painted flowers with curlicues. She looks miserable, as if waiting for an opportunity to kill everyone.

Ghandus gazes at the Zaran slave girl. Smiling briefly, Ghandus says to her, "I bet you would love to get a blade in your hands now, wouldn't you?"

Tadius says, "Hello, Helios is it?  Ah, grand!  Ghandus, I just happen to have a dagger or two on my person.  It would be such a shame if I should 'accidentally' drop one of them.  Especially if it should fall within reach of a certain dancer's grasp."  Tadius grins.

Obviously luxuriating in a rolled-eyes into baleful glare at you gawkers, especially as the Chattel Staffing Agent is occupied guffawing at the latest land lizard round-up outside, the Zaran concubine-to-be hisses, "Invaders should be skinned!" Then follows a smile promising pain underneath the glare, "But honor to their strongest, who shall be slain last." The tumult is ebbing, this opportunity fleeting... you all nearby know instinctively you'll be in a world of shit if you enable this further. ;)

Some of the bar's lingering smoke-skull-rings seem laughing, the fucking bastards.

(OOC: Last chance on bookkeeping just in case shit goes down: Did you all do what you wanted and have provisioning set? Ready to fly by the seat of your pants with 'no regerts'? /shifting through vinyl for next soundtrack)

Ghandus reaches out to Tadius, gripping him firmly by the shoulders, growling low into his ear--"Get the Zaran woman your dagger!"

Ghandus, smiling hugely, then dramatically reaches back and punches Tadius across the face, *conveniently* guiding him towards the Zaran slave woman. Ghandus shouts at him, "Thralls are the best warriors!"

Not really expecting a punch to the jaw, Tadius reels for a second or two collecting his wits and taking a mental inventory of his teeth.   He fumbles for one of his daggers, sincerely considering having a go at Ghandus on general principal.  However, the Thrall's over-large tattooed muscles convince him otherwise.  Holding the dagger out before him, Tadius (in as fierce a voice as he can manage while in considerable pain) shouts, "Well that's about all you meatheads are good for!  Dying in a pool of your own blood!"

Tadius then feigns a lunge at Ghandus fully expecting another round of bruising.  Assuming Ghandus doesn't knock him out cold, Tadius intends to "fumble" his blade at the Zaran dancer's feet.

Glancing over to see the fight breaking out, Amara stands up and draws her sword. Jumping into the fray, the tall imposing Danuvian shouts out into the crowd...

"Who the fuck are you guys and why the fuck are you fighting?" and pointing her blade at the Zaran thrall, Amara shouts once more...

"You know we're living in a society! We're supposed to act in a civilized way...ah fuck it. Let us fight!" and glancing at the one known as Ghandus, the green-haired Danuvian says "If it gets too thick, I got your back on this one. I'll help you and you can help me."

Having been too quiet and reserved for too long, Amara decides to finally fight and test her mettle. Even if she is not interested in the issue the two are disputing, Amara wants to go and prove her strength and combat prowess to everyone in sight.

"I'm Amara Mala. And if someone is going to start a fight, I will be glad to finish it. But still, what is going on here? What's the cause of all this commotion? Maybe we should work together as a team..."

The Danuvian woman was hoping to recruit both these men on her side as part of an expedition, to build up a fighting force and figured an audacious move could impress them

BGM: Alicia Bridges, "I Love the Nightlife" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu2NzXb4x1s

An opportune distraction seized!

For those watching the Zaran concubine-to-be closely you see a rapid scooping up of Tadius' dagger, a cutting of her own palm, and a concentrated look at the linked black-iron chain that holds the discounted Zaran chattel staff's ankle manacles to one of the agency's anchor blocks.

The chain to the anchor breaks in several links along the Zaran chattel's anklets, who then work quickly threading out and wielding what shortened chains they now have as weaponry. They proceed to seek more weaponry and vengeance, and there is some gesturing about the outside and reins to mounts... Much violence shall now ensue. :D

The Zaran woman's chest heaves, revealing fully a nice grapefruit pair under a taut golden net, before the fabric becomes opaque again as she collapses in a faint, dropping Tadius' dagger. What a start to a show!

The smoke-skull-rings dissipate in a final guffaw.

Ghandus smiles at Tadius and Amara. "Start a nice fire in several places! That will give them something else to worry about!" "I'll take her outside to the jungle, where she will be safe!"

Ghandus then scoops up the Zaran slave woman, and carries her over his broad shoulder, making his way out of the market, heading towards the jungle treeline.

Amara follows Ghandus's instructions and holds the line as she tries to start a fire or find some other form of diversion.
