I really enjoy Play By Post...until the GM and players vanish. I get that life happens, but damn, apparently if you start a PbP your life blows apart or the gods cut off your internet service.

Here are my thoughts:

1) I want to run Dark Heresy (1e). My approach is 40k Call of Cthulhu so there will be plenty of investigation, horror and crazy violence.

2) I will make several PCs to pick from, unchosen PCs become NPCs on the team. If someone wants to bring their own PC, that's cool too.

3) I am using the core book only. If you don't have the core book, that's cool too, but I will be posting links to understanding the setting that you should check out.

4) We will play limited campaign of 10 weeks and we will all agree to posting at least twice per week. My plan, before the Curse of PbP strikes, is that I will post on Tuesdays and Fridays. So your commitment is really 20 posts. You can post more, but that's all I am asking.

5) If the mini-campaign works for me (and at least somebody else), then I will run another Dark Heresy mini-campaign using the same minimal commitment and short duration.

6) If you don't post, I will play your PC to the best of my understanding of the PC. PCs left fallow become NPCs until the player returns, or after 2 weeks of non-contact, that PC would be up for grabs for a new player.

7) I am thinking of pre-game stuff happening in the next 2 weeks and then starting the actual game around December 1st. Please let me know if you are interested and your own thoughts!

Crap I gave my Dark Heresy 1.0 away to a friend who went to college.  All I have is Dark Heresy Second Edition.

Then you know how to play!

I have Dark Heresy I have no clue if it's 1.0 or 2.0(I bought it 2-3 years ago) but never played the game and my book is in a box in the basement somewhere...: (

Well other than the fact I don't have any growth limits in dark heresy 2 where in dark heresy 1 each career has what abilities they can get unless they want to branch out with GM permission.

Sounds like I have 1st edition then.

I am surprised. I thought we had more DH fans over here. If we can get 3 players, I'd be happy to start it up after the holidays. As for PC growth, I know that DH 1e has the class trees, but I am open to growth based on adventures and based on character concept (within reason).

I've had even less luck than you with PbP, but since my group is currently incommunicado, I'll give it a shot.  

Unlike some games, most of the suppliments don't seem to provide much in the way of power creep, but I've got no problems playing core only.  

I'd toss a character idea your way, but I've found that I rather like seeing what other people think is cool in character creation, so I'll play whatever.
