This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The City Guard says...

"Purely Trade...Bandits near Youn you say? Well we've had a lot of trouble lately, ever since the Governor's cut a little funding for the Military....probably all those damn pensions " He says snidely as he looks towards Phen

" There just isn't the money for the kind of coverage we're used to... Would you like to make a report of what ever it was that was stolen? What would you have left to Trade??"

He seems a little suspicious, and takes a walk around while looking in the back of Boris' cart

Layla's eyes narrow at the guard.   "Do you think we can't take care of ourselves?  I said they attacked, not that they had succeded"

Maybe they should stop all pensions, starting with yours when you have completed your service

PENNA

When you enter through the Gate, you are surrounded by a Large Bustling Metropolis

You see alot of people going about the business of thier lives, with little to no concern about the Soldier and herbalist riding a Shorse and Buggy...In fact people walking almost seem to expect YOU to get out of thier way as you trot through the main gate and up the road.

As you travel on there is an  Alvira's Alchemy shop on your left. This is not your grandma's herbalry. Alvira comes from the University route of studying plants and concoctions, quite a bit different and at times more philosophical than Granny Ruth's self made Profession.

Next to Alvira's is Pete's Pet Shop, the Caption on his Door's Facade is "We Catch em' you Clean em"

A path to your Right you know goes to your Father's Cobbler Shop where he is likely at home making or selling shoes, under the wicked eyes of your Step Mother - Reva.

Straight ahead leads to the University and the Governor's Mansion. From having lived here some of your life you know that the Governor takes personal interest in the Studies that go on at the University, and personally oversees the University as Head Dean. in fact Governor Sade(pronounced Sahd-ee )Greeble tends to have his hands in everything, quite the micro-manager. If you look at the man which, you have seen him once or twice in your travels, you wouldn't say there was anything  "Micro" about him. Gluttonous Greeble as some have taken to call him is approximately 300 pounds overwieght, and his head butler Zaeed Nurma can't shovel enough food in at times.... Of course this Mansion is his personal home, and not the Government Center where he runs the State.

You're literally in a Metropolis, so while these are the closest attractions to you at this time just about anything you could want to do is available to you, that is... if you have the credits...

Layla eyes the petshop with curiosity.   She'd never been in a pet shop before although most people in the outlying areas kept at least a couple of K9 type animals around to warn of danger or keep some of the bolder predators away.   She thot that if theyd had warning they wouldn't have been caught out so easily by the bandits on the road.

She wonders how much one would cost.

"Phen I want to go into that pet store.   Want to come?"

Yes.  I want a fish to accompany me when I go foraging tor Gran. You're an idiot.   If we'd had some sort of pet on the road we may not have been so easily ambushed.  And I don't want something the size of Boris.   I'm thinking something more pocket sized. She said grinning up at Phen.    "Come and help me pick!"  She grabs his arm and drags him to the store.

Pete's Pet Shop
"We catch em' You clean em' "

As you and Phen enter Pete's pet shop ... You see animals everywhere... as a resident of Calorra, nothing looks completely unfamiliar to you... In fact somethings you are quite familiar with... the shop has a baby girabbit and baby trocosnarl! There are some other rarer animals as well... There are some

Frurtles: A small marshland reptile that has a long tongue it eats flys with and a hardshell surrounding its fragile body... Looking through the glass you only see a shell... So it must be inside it's hidey hole shell catching some Z's

You also see

Sparrot's: A small bird that could fit on your shoulder, but has a bad habit of repeating everything you say.

something that really catches your attention is in the far Corner... It's a Bolf.

Bolf's: Are a very rare animal, in fact even as much time as you spent in the woods you only saw one once. It's a carnivorous pack animal that has sharp teeth and Horns, it appears to be snarling and rabid as some customers approach it.

At the front if the store behind a counter you see a few customers being assisted by this man

"Hello"  Layla says to the man.   Not quite sure of her options, she asks "do you have something small that would be able to accompany me in the woods and warn of possible danger?  I forage a lot on my own and it would be nice to have a little company too."

The man takes a moment to read you... as if he's taking what you said to a deeper level... " Something to warn of Danger that will bond with you"

He takes a moment to look at his wares.  " Finding a pet is like finding a suit of armor, it has to be perfect. armor must first and foremost protect you in battle, but it also must be fluid and fine, you have to be able to move and breathe...So too a pet must serve it purpose but be easy to take care of and flexible to your lifestyle... Would you prefer something that dwells in water, on earth, or in the air."
