Colorra

Temperate
Miscible
10,000 people
Tech Level 2

Colorra is actually a  moon to the Planet Exabius. It's a small moon(aka planet), with One large capital city, and then a few smaller Villages. The main focus of the planet's government is to protect the Two Temples from trespassers. It's never been understood why these two large Structures exist. They loom over the planet and can be seen from anywhere on the planet, because there are two giant beams of light that constantly glow coming out of the top of the Temples, and into space . However the Government and powers that be refuse regular people entry, in fact the Government goes to great length to protect these from being entered and it's believed that no one has ever managed to trespass into one. The Planetary Government's military's entire purpose is to guard and patrol these temples day and night, and only allow the Wandering Hermits of Peace Entry. It's on this planet that we find our hero

Layla

Layla grew up her whole life visiting her Grandma in the woods and countryside. Granny Ruth is an herbalist who has gone to great lengths to teach Layla just about everything she knows. Layla's father is a cobbler in Penna, the large Metropolis that covers a large portion of the Moon. Things have heated up with a bit of a rebellion in Penna, and so Layla has gone to live with Granny Ruth in the woods at her cottage.

It's here that Layla has been learning about Survival, woodsmanship and living life. She has also learned about the Secret Mer people who live in the lagoons and seas of the planet, of which her Granny Ruth has learned their language and trades with them secretly. It's believed that Granny Ruth may be Granny Ruth has taught Layla much of the Mer Language.

What you missed so far

Layla woke up one morning in June and her Granny had some chores for her to do. She had to...

1.  Retreive some of the 'Purple Light Bearer's' Flowers from Ruined Temple just north of her grandma's cottage
2. Get some ' Turnishes ' from her grandpa's farm just down the road
3. Buy 'Cloverdill' Spice from the Village of "Walric"
4. find some 'Grelp' in  the seaside village of "Delmar"
5. Catch a strikerfish and get it's eggs from the River Youn
6. Deliver BlueCran Potion to the butler "Zaeed" at the governor's Manision in Penna

DAY 1

Layla decided she would head south from Granny's cottage to her Paternal Grandfather's and Grandmother's farm. She took a short cut through the woods and found a contraption that appeared to be broken. It was an average sized box-trap with a broken in half spear head inside, it appeared that something sprung the trap but that it failed. Layla took the Broken Heft of spear with her as she approached Grandpa's farm. She didn't observe anyone around at first. As she rounded the far corner of the farm where she coudn't see, she found what sprung the trap.... A GIRABITT!! And the little sucker was eating Grandpa's Turnishes and Plumpkins. And as everyone knows Plumpkins take all season to grow and are extremely valuable...So Layla shot an arrow at the Girabbit before it could spot her. Her first shot missed though and stuck into the fence on the other side...Luckily the Girabbit didn't notice her yet, and she got a 2nd shot off, just as the Girabbit spotted her and charged...it fell flat dead, with an arrow through the heart.

The commotion drew her Brother Phen out of the woods, he had been looking for part's to fix the Girabbit trap. So Layla as the good sister helped her brother fix the fencing, the trap and skinned the Girabbit. When Grandpa Sam and Grandma Annise came home from town they all had girabbit stew and caught up on some family time.

DAY 2

Layla decided to head south once again, this time Phen joined her since he recently retired from the Calorran Military. Grandpa gave them Boris the Shorse and a cart of supplies to try and sell along their travels. They ended up in Walric where Layla stopped at the Walric spice shopped and spoke with the owner Juan Lupe. Phen stayed and gaurded the cart.  Juan Lupe said that he only had one package of cloverdill spice left because of all the bandit raids on the main road recently and he would have to charge her 100 Credits. Layla reluctantly paid the crook 100 credits. She was able to talk him into giving her some 'Fermen' herb as well for that price. Upon leaving the shop Layla met Betsy Battista, something that looked like cloverdill fell out of her pocket. Layla handed it to her and Betsy told her about how the Spice shop owner only had one package left and charged her 100 Credits. Layla stormed back into the Spice shop where another package of cloverdill spice now sat on the shelf. Layla made sure Juan Lupe knew how upset she was, however he wouldn't give her any money back. As his attention turned towards other customers Layla spiked his tea with a laxative type herb...That night her and Phen stayed at JibJab's INN, while Phen was inside drinking, which he's really good at, Layla was outside and overheard a hooded figure speaking to another hooded figure. The male voice told the female to be at the Youn Ruin in 3 nights to receive ' enlightenment '.

DAY 3

The next day They headed East and set up camp that night at the Delmar Crossroads, just north of the Seaport at Delmar. While foraging for a campsite off the road Layla found a very large patch of Wild Carrot's...she began to pick a few bushels of them to sell, but she wasn't the only thing eating carrots that night and  ran into a Girabbit Den, and it was a mad mamma Girabbit, it attacked her on sight defending her two baby girabbits. Phen quickly came to the rescue hacking and slashing and soon there were three dead girabbit's and Layla skinned the large mama to try and sell the hide.

DAY 4

Layla and Phen then headed south into Delmar, to find some Grelp. She located a boat moored in the Harbor, and because of her excellent ahleticism, was able to swim underneath the boat and found some Grelp that grows near some islands far away from the harbor. The Grelp had gotten stuck to the rudder of the boat! While she was swimming under the boat, she thought she saw a mer-man. When they went to the Shops in Delmar she bought a net and some Carpeltunneler's that she thought she would need to catch some strikerfish, and she got a good deal on the net and worms. Then Layla sold the Girrabit Hide and some vegetables to the innkeeper at the inn they were staying at.

DAY 5

After leaving Delmar, They stopped near a bridge that crosses over the River Youn to try and catch some Strikerfish. They got some, but were attacked by a 'Trocosnarl' that was living under the bridge, he was way to big to fight even with Phen so they ran far away from the shoreline, but they got their striker-fish and eggs. That night they camped outside the old abandoned and ruined town called Youn.

DAY 6

While scavenging the ruins of the old village Youn, Layla found a gold plated Book with some pictures of plants and flowers in it. She didn't recognize them as being anything she's ever seen though, and she was very very familiar with almost all of the plants, on her planet. Later that night while back on the road her and Phen were attacked by some Bandit's...they called themselves the enlightened but were only there to "Lighten" the load of Phen and Layla and Boris the Shors's cart. They were surrounded and not near their weapons, and almost lost everything, but out of no where an arrow flew into the chest of the Leader of the bandits and struck him down, the commotion gave Phen time to grab his sword, and Layla her staff and they struck down quickly the other two bandits. The hooded woman from Walric then identified herself as the True Enlightened, and that these petty criminals call themselves that to create fear and it adds to the mystery surrounding the truly enlightened. She told Layla that  she had a lot of potential and would be watching her closely to see if she was worthy of becoming enlightened herself.  She told Layla that for some reason the government is hiding alot of secrets from the people of Calorra, but that 'The Enlightened' want everyone to know the truth. The hooded woman dissappeared just as quickly as appearing, and Phen and Layla continued on north to Penna. Phen left a 'Trouble' Marker that the military disguises in plants and shrubs to let anyone passing through there know that there was a bandit attack.  They camped outside the Metropolis 'Penna'  at a military camp. Phen had some type of interest in a lovely warrior woman named Rhya who he knew from his military duty. Layla tried to convice Phen that Rhya was very interested in Phen, but he didn't seem to think so.

As Layla and Phen Approach ' Penna ' They see a giant wall, with only one Gated Entrance and Two Guards on either side of the Entrance. Phen doesn't recognize the Soldiers. Every now and then the guards stop the flow of traffic into the City to check papers. The solider's are wearing common attire for Colorran Military.

What else?   The "attacks" were relatively normal.  It's these guys that seem to be making you tense.

Probably not a bad idea, anyway.  Everybody seems tense lately.   All I want to concentrate on right now is getting through a meal with the "Step-Monster" and that little "stink" she calls a son.   If it weren't for Father, Id skip it.

Phen

As Phen approaches the soldiers he says

"Here are my papers, and Hail to the Govna' "

As he says this, with is free hand he places his hand on his forehead , vertically aligned with his palm facing out... It looks awkward but you assume this to be some sort of military salute

Really?   Layla rolls her eyes at him, thinking about how much he looks like a dork, and hands over her own papers to be examined
