This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

BACKGROUND

- Born on Vanth to a Planetary Ape archeologist couple doing research in the border between the lands of the Ape Sultans and the Forbidden Waste.
- Parents went with half of the team to try and make their way back to God City after Vanth was cut off from galactic civlization. They never returned. Gorgo was a child of 6 at the time and was left behind with the rest of the team.
- Trained in the ways of the Psy Witch by an exiled member of the Funfair Nomads. His master died of old age last year.

*SIGH*

I must regretfully inform you all that my PC died on me again, this time permanently it seems, as several components (including the hard drive) that I cannot afford to replace anytime soon.

Someone up there hates me!

I'll post more about this in my blog...hmmm 30m to go on the netcafe.

Do with Gorgo what you wilt until I return.

Cheers.

Is the STR score for armour the minimum STR you need to wear it, or an actual characteristic of the armour?

My take is that it's the minimum STR to wear the armor without an additional movement penalty of, say, 1" per point of difference between the PCs ability score and the minimum.  So you could have STR 8 and still wear a bulletproof vest, but your movement would be 4 1/2" instead of 6 1/2".

Thanks. One more question: on page 26 (miscellaneous equipment), it has the equipment name, then the cost, then a heading I can't read, then something that looks like 'Army': what do the last 2 columns mean?

Lemon is the chance that any given item is shoddy, defective, malfunctions, etc.  Army is the chance of finding the item in sufficient quantities to outfit a large number of people.  Both can be ignored for chargen purposes.

Thanks again. I found the answer to my previous question actually - on p22: if you don't have at least the listed STR, you get -1/2" movement and -3% attack for each point short.

Knew it was in there somewhere, but EC is not, uh, especially well organized.  Seems like S John Ross has been somewhat vocal on the importance of good of indexes too, so I imagine it was with some glee that he scattered various rules throughout the book...
