AM - got any preference on how we present to you all of the stuff with bought (with, say, our whopping 40 GP starting money)?

Since I envisioned Norcon as a sort of mousey scrounger, I have quite a list (but I didn't have enough for thieves tools!).

Thanks,
Jim

It was great fun! Thank you!

We should be better organized though, to make everyone´s experience smoother.

Things that someone fixed should do while playing:

1) mapping. we need someone to map while we are exploring.

2) notes. someone else should keep taking notes about names, factions, our exploits information etc.

3) a third person should keep track of our equipment and loot as we gather it

possibly 4th) keep track of enemies encountered, slain or otherwise overcome

I´m imagining a list that´s added to while gaming. I have a two monitor setup, I volunteer for loot-management. I can parallel-process with an Excel window open. I´d do any of the other chores as well, but preferrably not all of them!

If everyone does his small assigned part, we can surely save some time and lessen the burden on the DM.

Sounds good. I'll take notes of who we've encountered, we've slain, etc.

BTW, good call on sneak-attacking those vile slavers!

I took notes for the whole thing - what we did, maps (as best I could - without scale), most of who we killed and encountered, then a list of everything we recovered.

All of it, unfortunately, the old fashioned way - pencil and paper. I could practice more so that it was better wired into the interface...

Awesome!

I do think we could lessen your burden too. I´ll start having an excel file with the spoils of war for easy reference. If you are the Information Gatherer: Have you seen the small map of my first foray ino the Bagthru Orc areas?

Here is a simple map of the areas you explored. I was thinking I would just add to the "known" areas after every game.

Ok, quick AP report:

Three heroes (Minston, Norcon, Tangal) and their three porters (well, Minston's three porters) arrived at the entrance to the old caves and made their way in. They started out by exploring some of the entry caves until they reached a pair of porticullis gates. Although they could not find a way to lift or raise the gates, the three spent a few minutes at trying to lift or bend the bars.

Tangal used his light spell to illuminate the area beyond the southernmost gate and you were able to see a pool with a statue of Maglubiyet and several brightly colored frogs.

You backtracked to the entry cave and tried the easternmost passage where you were joined by Tili-Teshub.. and then immediately atttacked by animated boulder-creatures. After a few rounds of battle, you eventually figured out that the boulders were leery of going near the edge into the depression. So you backed away towards the edge, then killed the majority of the Bowlers. The last one was captured as a curiosity.

Afterwards you climbed down the ladder to gather some geodes and investigate the small cave below.. and were confronted by a group of Kasarim slavers (a cleric, mage, assassin, and a fighter). The slavers were not immediately hostile, but guardedly suggested you head across Batswing Aerie to buy slaves from Goblinton and gave some simple directions.

Your group headed that way, but then once you had crossed to the other side, pulled up the ladder, then turned and attacked. The fighter tried to slash down the rope bridge in order to climb up and battle, but your group cut the other end and pulled up the ropes before she could.

Then, there was a pitched battle in the depressed area of the cave bed.

Minston jumped down into the ravine, followed by Tangal (who killed the mage with arrows before sliding down into the depression to fight)..
Tili-Teshub attempted to tackle the fighter by leaping into the gorge on top of her, but missed entirely. Norcon was yanked over the cliff by a manipulated rope-spell, and soon found him facing off against the enemy cleric.

Tangal, Tili-Teshub, and Minston managed to kill both the assassin, the fighter, and the enemy mage. The cleric eventually surrendered.

After some interrogation and threats the slaver cleric explained their mission and gave up the treasure he and his group had accumulated from slave-trading.

Loot was divided up and the evil-cleric was accompanied back into town, under arrest.

Rules Excavation result:

For Ranged Combat, the individual reaction modifiers count!

For example, if I rolled Init for our whole side [1] and the DM rolls for the enemy side [3], but Tangal knows he´ll be shooting missiles, he ADDS his reaction mod [3, assuming a DEX 18], and thusly might be able to shoot before the enemy attacks, even though his side lost init.

Hey guys, did I ever give out the spellbook spells?

Coralith's Spellbook (the dead slaver mage) had these spells:
Spellbook: Read Magic, Find Familiar, Affect Normal Fires, Sleep, Charm Person, Locate Object, Rope Trick, Forget

I believe Tangal took it.

Does anyone else want to play this Sunday at 1PM EST. that is Eastern Standard time!

Just post here or say hello. 1st level characters. Standard AD&D1e! Massive dungeon.
