SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Gather round, children big and small, let Uncle Melan tell a tale for all.

  • Luke Crane, RPG geek at large working at Kickstarter, launches the ZineQuest initiative to encourage people to launch a myriad zine projects on the platform. Special care is taken to involve Luke's buddies in the dangerhair demographic.
  • ZineQuest happens, becoming a major hit. Indie RPG creators just harvest the cash like it is OSR(*) over three years, dangerhairs with not particularly valuable ideas actually make a load of money on it. Some of it is actually decent.
  • Dangerhairs cancel Luke Crane for working with cancelled dangerhair Adam Koebel, and gaming the KS system to fund his own projects (unethical but not quite illegal).
  • Luke Crane forced to leave Kickstarter.
  • ZineQuest is no longer a priority, gets moved to some vague future date by company.
  • surprisedpikachu.jpg "How could this happen?" "They are just an evil corporation!" "Bbbut my project plans!"

And so on.

"I saved you, " cried that woman, "And you've bitten me, heavens why? You know your bite is poisonous, and now I'm gonna die!"
"Oh, shut up, you silly woman, " said that reptile with a grin, "You knew damn well I was a snake before you brought me in!"

"6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."

Reminds me a bit of an old song, Trixie and the Killer by the Judys.
Suspense arises somehow even from the 100% predictable.
