Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Settembrini;846239I fear to ask: what is the problem people have with ZakS?

He's hypocritical and stupidly reactive to certain "triggers". His writing is decent enough, which is the only way an artist should be judged.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

Hypocrisy usually is mellowed by the forgetfulness of people. how come they do seem to follow everything he writes to then "throw up in their mouths", as I just read?

What kind of hypocrisy are we talking about? NB: If this has been discussed here in another thread, a link is appreciated in order to not further derail the current discussion. THX

It's in dead horse territory. Just google his name, you'll find something.

Zak S's win is being discussed on KotakuInAction (reddit). It's funny watching some video gamers notice for the first time that the witch hunts they've been protesting have afflicted tabletop for longer still:

EDIT: Ooh, I believe our own Brad C Waker posted in that thread under the name bcwalker to educate the video gamers.

Yeah that describes it fairly well I guess.

Haha, the thread turns into a mini edition war at the bottom. Shocking!

You should just make this your standard post.

Congrats, Zak S!  I loved Red & Pleasant Land, and your work deserves the recognition.

Your success has been a big inspiration to me.

Correct. That's me, and whenever TRPGs come up I tend to speak up when it comes to Reddit. (KIA, by default, assumes videogames when "gaming" is discussed.) (And then there is /r/rpg, which is just a bit lame; Witcher RPG discussion had folks who Don't Get It doing that Not Getting It thing.)

Congrats to ZacS!

Lets keep politics out of it as much as possible.  I love A Red and Pleasant Land, and I'd say that as long as you're okay with magic, weirdness, and death then your politics have no place in what is truly an excellent setting.

Why are Americans so obsessed with labels? Pro-gg, anti-gg, SJW, sex-positive, sex-negative etc. It's just retarded. Why don't people look at the fact and then make up their own minds based on the pro's and the cons? It turns everything into a fucking sportsmatch. People choose a camp and then think they have the right to be extremely opiniated about the things they haven't really thought about in depth in the first place. It's so silly.
May I say that? Yes, I may say that!

Mostly we don't.  It's just a small group of extremely vocal people yelling at each other.  Internet forums are disproportionately filled with those sorts of people, the way that you're likely to find more hockey fans at a sports bar.

Was anyone else reminded of "Only Sith deal in absolutes" here?
Ugh. Gross. I resent and am embarrassed by the time I spent thinking this site was okay.
