This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

OK. I've waved my magic wand and lo and behold, you are able to play in a game run by, or GM a one-off RPG session with 4 game designers, living or dead. Which 4 would you want present for the session and for what reasons?

Why would I want to GM a game for game designers?

I'd kind of rather have one of them do the GMing.

Greg Stafford, Sandy Petersen, John Tynes and Greg Stolze. Running games in that exact order, their favorite game.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

The only Game designers who sound like decent GMs to me are Monte Cook and Kevin Siembieda. I think I'd like KS's game more too.

In that case...

Gygax would run, and I'm not terribly concerned about who else I'd be playing with (eh... Monte Cook, Mike Mearls, and... hell I guess I don't know much about game designers do I?).

Let's see... in no particular order:

1.  SMS- I would love to play or watch him GM a game of Talislanta.
2.  Sandy Peterson- I would love to play or watch him GM a game of RuneQuest (II or III).
3.  E. Gary Gygax- Come on, who wouldn't want the opportunity to play or watch him GM a game?
4.  Dave Arneson- I would like to see the contrast in styles between the two founding fathers of RPGs.

Wow, coming up with only four choices was difficult!  If I could sneak in one more, then it would probably be Steve Jackson.  I would love to see him run GURPS seemlessly off the top of his head.

Steve Costikyan, Greg Stafford, Ron Edwards and Ken St Andre. We'd play My Life with Master....

The poor still weak the rich still rule
History lives in the books at home
The books at home

Hinterwelt (for old times sake)
Clash (seems cool)
Gygax (Obvious reasons)
Luke Crane (to see if he's as much of an asshole in real life as he is on the internet)

Probably he's not, as the Pundit probably won't be. Or anyone, by the way. I'm convinced that most of us could have lots of fun playing in a game run by any other person around here.

That's what I suspect.

I liked Luke when I met him last GenCon. He seemed very nice in person - happy and excited.

And I'd be more than pleased to play in any gaming group with you and such exalted company, Mike! :D

Mine are -

Gygax - no need to explain here. I want the perspective of the man at the beginning of it all.

Clash - Because i want to meet the magnificent bastard.

Greg Stafford - Because i can't fault him and would want him to run a game of Pendragon for me.

Bob Bledsaw - because i have such a hard-on for the Wilderlands.

The 4 game Designers?

1) Sean Punch ("Kromm")

2) Steve Jackson

3) William H. Stoddard

4) Daryl Hannah

...and if Ms. Hannah has scheduling difficulties - then my frioend Cayle S. - brtter known to some of you as "Chainmail Girl" from Gencon and ORIGINS. Her image and ideas have been included in many game designs.  Just ask the crew at FLYING BUFFALO.

If we can have a fifth player?....

5) RPG Pundit
